The Opportunity

A well-established industrial organization is seeking a Structural Engineer to join its corporate engineering function in Medley, Florida. This position will provide structural engineering expertise across a network of operating facilities, supporting both existing infrastructure and new capital projects.

The Structural Engineer will work closely with engineering, project management, operations, consultants, and contractors on a diverse range of initiatives. The role combines structural assessment and asset integrity work with project design, permitting, construction support, and facility improvement efforts.

This is an opportunity to gain broad exposure to complex industrial projects while directly contributing to the safety, reliability, compliance, and long-term performance of critical facility infrastructure.

What You''ll Be Doing

Structural Engineering & Asset Integrity

  • Conduct periodic facility inspections and structural condition assessments to identify repair, maintenance, and improvement needs.

  • Evaluate existing structures and develop recommendations for further investigation, remediation, inspections, or capital upgrades.

  • Stay current on relevant building codes, engineering standards, and regulatory requirements that may impact facility structures.

  • Provide technical guidance related to structural integrity, performance, and compliance.

Capital Projects & Design Support

  • Partner with Project Managers throughout project planning, design, construction, and commissioning.

  • Review structural calculations, drawings, specifications, and designs prepared by outside engineering firms, consultants, and contractors.

  • Support structural aspects of project budgeting, scheduling, planning, and risk evaluation.

  • Coordinate site surveys, geotechnical investigations, and soil studies to support foundation and site design requirements.

Construction & Field Support

  • Develop scopes of work for structural projects involving foundations, concrete, steel, and related construction activities.

  • Assist with evaluating and selecting engineering consultants, contractors, and other project partners.

  • Provide field engineering support and oversight during key stages of construction and structural installation.

  • Work with internal teams and external partners to help deliver projects safely, on schedule, and within established budgets.

Permitting & Regulatory Coordination

  • Support permitting, site development, and regulatory approval activities for engineering and construction projects.

  • Coordinate with applicable authorities and agencies to secure building, occupancy, and other required permits.

  • Help ensure projects and facilities meet applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.

What We''re Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor''s degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering with a structural focus, or a closely related engineering discipline.

  • 3–5 years of structural engineering experience, ideally within industrial, manufacturing, heavy infrastructure, or large-scale facility environments.

  • Working knowledge of structural analysis, engineering design principles, and applicable building codes.

  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and project coordination abilities.

  • Ability to travel periodically to other company facilities for inspections, assessments, and project support.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting heavy industrial, cement, aggregates, mining, manufacturing, or similar operating environments.

  • Familiarity with project management processes and various project delivery methods.

  • Experience with AutoCAD and structural analysis or design software.

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to pursue professional licensure.

  • Experience coordinating with permitting authorities, geotechnical consultants, engineering firms, and construction contractors.

Why Consider This Opportunity?

This role offers the opportunity to work across a diverse portfolio of industrial facilities and projects rather than being limited to a single site or narrow project scope. You''ll collaborate with experienced engineering and project professionals while gaining exposure to facility assessments, capital improvements, structural design, construction, and project execution.

For an engineer looking to broaden their experience in a complex industrial environment, this position provides meaningful responsibility, professional growth opportunities, and the ability to directly influence the safety and long-term reliability of critical infrastructure.
