Job Description

Fire Alarm Service Engineer – South East London- £35,000 - £42,000 Basic Salary + On-Call Allowance + Overtime

  • £35,000 - £42,000 basic salary (depending on experience).
  • Company vehicle.
  • 1 in 7 on-call rota.
  • £150 standby payment per on-call week.
  • Door-to-door pay for out-of-hours call-outs.
  • Monday to Friday working hours.
  • 22 days annual leave, increasing to 25 days with length of service.

Role Overview

We are recruiting for an experienced Fire Alarm Service Engineer to join a well established fire and security company covering South East London.

This is a service, fault finding and maintenance role with no installation work involved. You'll be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance, servicing and reactive fault finding on a wide range of fire alarm systems, ensuring all systems remain compliant and fully operational.

Fire Alarm Service Engineer – Role & Responsibilities

  • Service, maintain and fault-find on a variety of fire alarm systems.
  • Diagnose and rectify faults efficiently to minimise system downtime.
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance visits.
  • Complete service reports and all relevant paperwork accurately.
  • Identify remedial works and report findings where required.
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with current industry standards and fire safety regulations.
  • Provide excellent customer service while representing the company on site.
  • Participate in a 1 in 7 on-call rota.

Fire Alarm Service Engineer – Skills & Experience Required

  • Proven experience servicing and maintaining fire alarm systems.
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Good knowledge of both conventional and addressable fire alarm systems.
  • Previous experience within a service and maintenance role (not installation).
  • FIA qualifications or manufacturer training would be advantageous.
  • Full UK Driving Licence or equivalent is essential.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
