Position Overview
The Senior UiPath Automation Specialist will serve as the program’s senior automation subject matter expert, supporting a large-scale modernization initiative to replace legacy mainframe-based systems with a cloud-first modern system of systems. The role will develop and maintain the agency automation roadmap, identify and prioritize automation opportunities, support business discovery, evaluate vendor-developed UiPath solutions, build prototypes and proofs of concept, and provide technical guidance throughout implementation and operational support.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain, and communicate an enterprise-level UiPath automation roadmap across multiple business areas.
  • Identify, assess, qualify, sequence, and prioritize automation opportunities based on feasibility, complexity, effort, benefits, risks, dependencies, and business readiness.
  • Serve as the UiPath technical subject matter expert for project managers, program leadership, business teams, and vendors.
  • Evaluate vendor-produced automation designs, Process Definition Documents, Solution Design Documents, test artifacts, and deployment approaches.
  • Provide technical guidance on UiPath Studio, UiPath Orchestrator, REFramework, queues, exception handling, triggers, assets, robots, and logging.
  • Build UiPath prototypes and proofs of concept to validate technical feasibility and demonstrate automation concepts.
  • Participate in automation discovery sessions and process walkthroughs with business subject matter experts.
  • Translate complex automation concepts, technical limitations, risks, and impacts into language understandable to non-technical business stakeholders.
  • Support UAT, business readiness, go-live activities, maintenance, and operational support for vendor-delivered automations.
  • Track automation issues and enhancement requests, coordinate vendor support tickets, and communicate status to business stakeholders and program leadership.
  • Identify technical and business risks, dependencies, process gaps, access requirements, and data-quality issues that could affect automation delivery.
  • Provide independent advice to project managers regarding vendor estimates, sequencing, technical risks, dependencies, and deployment readiness.

  • 5+ years of recent hands-on UiPath experience

  • Exception handling, retry, and recovery logic
  • Robots, triggers, assets, folders, packages, jobs, and credential stores

  • Automation opportunity assessment
  • Vendor solution/design evaluation
  • UAT and production implementation support
  • Microsoft 365, including Teams, SharePoint, Excel, Word, Visio, and PowerPoint.
