The OpenAI Deployment Company (“DeployCo”) is the deployment arm of OpenAI, purpose-built to deliver enterprise AI transformation at scale. As model capabilities accelerate, deployment has become the primary constraint to realizing AI value within large enterprises. DeployCo bridges that gap.

Our ambition is to build the company that defines AI deployment. We operate at the intersection of frontier AI, enterprise transformation, and scaled services delivery. We partner with some of the world’s largest and most influential companies to identify where AI can transform their businesses and build solutions using OpenAI’s models and products.

About Applying with Your Team

Some teams have already developed something difficult to recreate through individual hiring: a proven way of working together.

You know how one another thinks. You can challenge an idea without slowing the work down. You divide ambiguous problems quickly, raise each other’s standards and keep moving when the answer is not obvious. Earned trust, direct communication and clear ownership are key to succeeding at DeployCo.

If you are part of an established team of two to five people, we invite you to apply to DeployCo together. You might be former founders deciding what to build next, a product team affected by a restructure or a group of colleagues who know their best work happens alongside one another.

DeployCo works in small, multidisciplinary teams that take enterprise AI systems from an important problem to production. Applying together helps us understand what you have achieved as a group and how you work with other people.

We hire and assign each person individually, placing them where their skills can have the greatest impact. People who apply together may work on different deployments, with different colleagues and for different customers from the outset.

Your team might include software, data or machine learning engineers alongside technical product or delivery leaders. We care less about a prescribed combination of titles than whether you have demonstrated that you can solve hard problems and ship high-quality products together.

At DeployCo, you will:

• Own complex AI deployments from technical discovery through production and adoption.

• Build agentic applications and workflow tools using OpenAI models, APIs, retrieval, orchestration, data systems and production software practices.

• Work directly with customer teams to understand important workflows and turn ambiguity into practical systems.

• Make clear decisions about architecture, evaluation, reliability, safety and production readiness.

• Prototype quickly, test assumptions with real users and harden successful ideas into durable products.

• Identify what can be reused across deployments and turn field experience into stronger engineering and delivery patterns.

• Share what you learn with DeployCo’s Product and Research partners, connecting deployment reality to future model and product improvements.

You may be a strong fit for this route if:

• You are an established group of two to five people who have already delivered meaningful work together.

• You bring complementary strengths across engineering, product, data, AI or technical delivery.

• You have taken at least one complex product or system from an unclear starting point to a real production outcome.

• Every member of the team is exceptional in their own discipline. A strong team is not a substitute for strong individual contributors.

• You are comfortable remaining hands-on while taking collective ownership of the outcome.

• You communicate clearly, disagree constructively and change your minds when the evidence demands it.

• You can work closely with customer stakeholders without losing technical ambition or delivery pace.

• You operate calmly in complex environments and do not need perfect conditions to do great work.

• You care about leaving behind reliable systems rather than impressive prototypes.

We will consider teams with different levels of seniority and experience. Each person will be assessed against the requirements of the DeployCo role that best matches their skills.

How the process works

Apply together

Submit one application for the team. Tell us who you are, how you have worked together, what you have built and why you want your next chapter to be at DeployCo.

Interview together and individually

We will coordinate the interview process for everyone who applies together. It will include individual conversations and technical assessment, alongside a working session designed to understand how you solve problems together.

Every person will be assessed individually and held to the same bar as other DeployCo candidates for the relevant role. We will also consider what your shared experience shows about how you collaborate, learn and deliver.

Receive a coordinated decision

We will communicate decisions on a coordinated timeline. Each person will be hired into an individual role and will receive individual employment terms and an individual offer. Applying through this route does not determine which deployment you join or who you will work with after you start.

Compensation

Compensation will be determined individually according to each team member’s role, level, location, skills and experience. Eligible offers include equity.
