Job Description

Newstaff Employment Services are currently looking for an experienced CNC Operator Setter to join a busy manufacturing company in Biggleswade. This role involves setting, operating, and maintaining CNC machines to produce high-quality parts in accordance with engineering specifications.

The successful candidate will work closely with the production team to ensure efficient and precise machining operations, contribute to continuous improvement processes, and adhere to stringent health and safety policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC machines based on job sheets and engineering drawings.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.
  • Monitor machine operations and adjust settings as required.
  • Perform quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet required standards.
  • Carry out routine machine maintenance and cleaning.
  • Identify and resolve minor machine faults and escalate larger issues to the maintenance team.
  • Maintain accurate production and quality records.
  • Follow strict health and safety guidelines at all times.
  • Previous experience as a CNC Operator/Setter in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Good understanding of CNC machinery and tooling.
  • Attention to detail with a commitment to quality.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve minor machine issues.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Knowledge of health and safety standards in a manufacturing setting.
  • Flexible and reliable with a strong work ethic.

  • Temp-to-perm opportunity with a pay increase after 3 months
  • Full-time hours, Monday to Friday 8.30am - 4.30pm
