About the role

We are looking for a hands-on Technical Lead who writes production code every day while guiding a squad of high-performing engineers. You will build modern, cloud-native digital products in financial services, including AI-powered features such as conversational (voice and chat) experiences, working in fast, agile delivery teams alongside product, design and consulting partners.

Key responsibilities

•      Code: lead by example on complex frontend, backend and AI-integration work.

•      Design: own technical design for features within a domain-driven architecture, including API and event-driven integrations.

•      Conversational AI: lead the build of AI features using Claude, AWS Bedrock and LangGraph, including orchestration, guardrails and evaluation.

•      Design handoff: work directly from Figma with designers to deliver pixel-accurate, accessible UIs.

•      Standards: set engineering standards for code review, testing and AI-assisted development across the team.

•      Delivery pipeline: drive CI/CD with GitHub Actions and infrastructure as code with AWS CDK, supported by automated testing.

•      Team: mentor engineers, unblock delivery and uphold quality in fast agile sprints.

•      Stakeholders: work closely with delivery leads, architects and product owners on technical decisions, risks and trade-offs.

Must-have skills

•      Frontend: expert in React, Next.js and TypeScript; strong Figma-to-code workflow.

•      Backend: TypeScript on AWS serverless (Lambda, API Gateway, EventBridge, Step Functions, DynamoDB); API design and event-driven integration.

•      AI engineering: production experience with LLM applications, ideally Claude via AWS Bedrock, and agent orchestration with LangGraph, including RAG, tool use, prompt design, guardrails and evaluation.

•      DevOps: GitHub Actions and AWS CDK; automated testing (unit, integration and end-to-end).

•      AI-assisted coding: daily, fluent use of tools such as Claude Code, Copilot or Cursor, used safely and productively in a team.

•      Agile: real, hands-on agile delivery experience.

•      Leadership: has led squads of 8–20 engineers while staying hands-on.

Strongly preferred

•      Domain: financial services, ideally wealth management, retirement (IRA/401(k)), brokerage or digital banking.

•      Regulation: familiarity with KYC/CIP, money movement and payments, and compliance requirements (FINRA/SEC context).

•      Voice AI: experience with voice interfaces, such as Amazon Connect, Lex or speech-to-text services.

•      Architecture: experience working within domain-driven design.

•      Consulting: experience in consulting-led or multi-vendor delivery teams.

Education

•      Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
