Since 2002, Quantium has combined the best of human and artificial intelligence to forge a better, more intelligent world. Our solutions make sense of what has happened and what will, could or should be done to reshape industries and societies around the needs of the people they serve.

As one of the world's fully diversified Data Science and AI leaders, we operate across every sector of the economy and we're growing fast — with growth comes opportunity! We're passionate about building out our team of smart, fun, diverse and motivated people.

We combine a team of experts that spans data scientists, actuaries, statisticians, business analysts, strategy consultants, engineers, technologists, programmers, product developers, and futurists — all dedicated to harnessing the power of data to drive transformational outcomes for our clients.

About the role

We're looking for a talented and driven Senior Data Scientist to join our growing US Retail & Consumer team. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of advanced analytics, machine learning, and commercial impact, delivering data-driven solutions that make a genuine difference for our clients and partners.

You will apply deep technical expertise across the full data science lifecycle, from problem framing and solution design through to model development, deployment, and ongoing value delivery. You'll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, contribute to a culture of analytical excellence, and play a meaningful role in mentoring and developing others.

How will you make an impact?

  • End-to-end solution delivery: Design, develop, and deliver high-quality data science solutions that address complex client and business problems across a range of retail and consumer industries
  • Advanced analytics application: Apply machine learning, statistical modelling, and AI techniques to generate actionable insights and build scalable analytical products
  • Problem framing: Translate business problems into well-defined analytical frameworks, driving delivery from scoping through to deployment
  • Client partnership: Collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders to understand requirements, communicate findings, and embed solutions into decision-making processes
  • Technical leadership: Champion best practice in data preparation, modelling, code quality, and solution governance, setting the standard for the team
  • People development: Mentor and support graduate and contributor-level team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning
  • Business growth: Participate in business development activities including solution scoping, proposal development, and client presentations

The superpowers you'll be bringing to the team

  • Technical proficiency: 3 to 6 years of experience in a data science or quantitative analytics role, with a strong track record of delivering commercial outcomes; proficiency in Python and/or R with solid coding practices
  • Modelling expertise: Strong foundations in statistical modelling, machine learning, and data wrangling, with hands-on experience in production-grade model development
  • Cloud and big data: Experience working with cloud-based data platforms (e.g. GCP, AWS, Azure) and familiarity with big data technologies
  • Communication skills: Demonstrated ability to communicate complex analytical findings to non-technical audiences in a clear and engaging way
  • Collaborative approach: Experience working in cross-functional teams and managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Academic background: A degree in a quantitative discipline such as mathematics, statistics, computer science, engineering, or a related field
  • Domain experience: Experience in retail, financial services, health, or a related industry is advantageous; familiarity with MLOps practices is a plus

Remember — you might not tick all the boxes, but don't let that stop you from applying. We're more interested in how you work, your ability to solve problems and think big.

What could your Quantium experience look like?

Working at Quantium will allow you to challenge your imagination. You will get to solve complex problems using rigour, precision and by asking great questions — but it also means you can think big, outside the box and push your problem-solving skills to the max.

By joining the Quantium team, you'll get to:

  • Forge your path: So many of our team have moved around different teams or offices. You'll be in the driver's seat, and we empower you to make your career your own.
  • Find your kind: Embrace diversity and connect with your tribe (think foodies, dog lovers, readers, or runners).
  • Make an impact: Leave your mark. Your contributions resonate, regardless of your role or rank.

Benefits

On top of the Quantium experience, you will enjoy a range of great benefits. Some of these include:

  • Comprehensive health coverage: Medical, dental, vision and life insurance coverage to keep you and your family well
  • Financial wellbeing: Retirement 401(k) plan with 6% employer contribution and flexible spending account
  • Flexible work arrangements: Achieve work-life balance at your own pace with hybrid and flexible work arrangements
  • Global working: Option to work in another country for up to 30 calendar days per year — balancing your career with the freedom to work globally. Eligibility criteria apply.
