Senior Electrical Engineer - PE - Commercial High-Rise MEP

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with an active Florida Professional Engineer (PE) license to lead electrical engineering and design for high-rise buildings and complex commercial projects. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in an MEP consulting environment and can independently manage electrical design deliverables, provide technical leadership, and coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams.

Projects may include high-rise office buildings, condominiums, hotels, municipal facilities, airports, industrial buildings, and other complex commercial structures.

Candidates currently working for MEP consulting firms in South Florida are strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead electrical engineering and design for high-rise commercial, residential, hospitality, and other complex building projects.
• Develop, review, and oversee electrical construction documents, drawings, calculations, specifications, and design packages.
• Produce and coordinate electrical designs using Revit and AutoCAD.
• Perform and review electrical load calculations, equipment selections, power distribution, lighting, and other building electrical systems.
• Provide technical leadership and resolve electrical design and coordination challenges.
• Coordinate electrical systems with architectural, mechanical, plumbing, structural, and other engineering disciplines.
• Review designs for code compliance, technical accuracy, constructability, and overall quality.
• Communicate with project teams, clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure design requirements are met.
• Support projects through construction documentation, drawing revisions, RFIs, and technical design changes.
• Apply professional engineering judgment and Florida PE credentials to project designs and deliverables.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and designers.

• 8+ years of electrical engineering experience in an MEP consulting environment.
• Required: Active Florida Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Proven experience designing electrical systems for high-rise buildings and complex commercial projects.
• Advanced proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.
• Strong understanding of building electrical systems, applicable codes, engineering standards, and design practices.
• Experience with high-rise offices, condominiums, hotels, airports, municipal facilities, industrial buildings, or similar complex structures.
• Demonstrated ability to independently manage electrical engineering design deliverables.
• Strong technical, coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Strongly preferred: Experience working for an MEP consulting firm in South Florida.

Important: Candidates without substantial commercial or high-rise electrical design experience will not meet the requirements for this position.
