Role: Field Service Engineer – UK Wide<br />Salary: £41,000 basic (£60,000+ achievable with overtime), plus company vehicle, mobile phone, pension, life assurance and additional benefits<br />Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm. Reading / UK-wide travel Company We are recruiting on behalf of a reputable global machinery manufacturer seeking a hands-on Field Service Engineer. This is a practical engineering role involving the installation, servicing, maintenance and repair of industrial machinery at customer sites throughout the UK.

You will spend most of your time working directly on equipment, diagnosing faults and completing repairs, rather than managing people.

Responsibilities Install and commission industrial machinery at customer sites<br />Carry out planned and preventative maintenance<br />Attend breakdowns and complete mechanical and electrical repairs<br />Diagnose faults and resolve technical issues efficiently<br />Support machinery upgrades, modifications and improvement work<br />Test equipment and ensure it is operating safely and correctly<br />Provide technical support during installations and service visits<br />Work alongside customer engineers, technicians and subcontractors<br />Complete service reports and accurately record work undertaken<br />Ensure all work meets company procedures and health and safety standards<br />Identify any additional repairs, parts or follow-up work required<br />Travel throughout the UK, including overnight stays when necessary Requirements A qualified Engineer, ideally through a recognised apprenticeship<br />Strong hands-on mechanical and/or electrical engineering experience<br />Experience working with industrial machinery within a manufacturing, production or engineering environment<br />Previous experience in maintenance, field service, installation, commissioning or machinery repair<br />Confident with fault-finding, breakdowns and planned maintenance<br />Comfortable working independently at customer sites<br />Good communication and customer service skills<br />A full UK driving licence<br />Willingness to travel throughout the UK and stay away from home when required Applications are welcomed from experienced Maintenance Engineers, Field Service Engineers, Commissioning Engineers, Installation Engineers and hands-on Maintenance Team Leaders or Supervisors looking to return to a practical engineering position.
