Principal Systems Engineer

Exelon seeks a Principal Systems Engineer to lead design and optimization of complex grid and enterprise systems supporting clean, reliable energy delivery. You will define system architectures, integrate OT/IT platforms, and ensure scalability, cybersecurity, and regulatory compliance for critical utility operations. Partnering with operations, cybersecurity, and project teams, you'll drive grid modernization, automation, and performance improvements. You will mentor engineers, set technical standards, and champion innovation in support of Exelon's safety-focused, inclusive culture and its mission to deliver sustainable, customer-centric energy solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and optimization of large-scale utility and grid systems
• Define and maintain end-to-end systems architectures and standards
• Integrate OT/IT platforms, including SCADA and enterprise systems
• Ensure reliability, performance, cybersecurity, and compliance
• Drive grid modernization and automation initiatives

• Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies
• Mentor and guide junior engineers and technical staff
