Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Application Architect with strong expertise in IBM Sterling Integrator (B2B Integrator), EDI development, IBM Transformation Extender (ITX), and banking/payment systems.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The strongest candidates will have a combination of:

IBM Sterling Integrator + ITX + EDI + Banking/Payments + NACHA/ACH + Wire + ISO 20022

A candidate who has only generic middleware experience but lacks Sterling Integrator, ITX, and banking/payment experience would not be a strong match.

Required Skills & Experience

• 7+ years of hands-on experience with IBM Sterling Integrator (SI / B2B Integrator).
• Strong hands-on experience with EDI development, mapping, translation, and integration.
• Extensive experience with IBM Transformation Extender (ITX).
• Strong understanding of banking and financial services, particularly payment processing systems.
• Experience working with:
  • NACHA / ACH
  • Wire Transfers
  • Check Processing
  • ISO 20022
  • Other financial/payment message formats
• Strong knowledge of EDI standards:
  • X12
  • EDIFACT
  • Other B2B/EDI standards
• Strong experience with Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) and middleware architecture.
• Experience designing and implementing complex integration solutions and middleware environments.
• Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and debugging skills.
• Ability to analyze integration failures, identify root causes, and implement sustainable solutions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Middleware & Integration Technologies

Experience with one or more of the following middleware technologies is highly desirable:

• IBM Sterling Integrator / B2B Integrator
• IBM Integration Bus (IIB)
• IBM WebSphere
• WebSphere DataPower
• Software AG
• TIBCO
• MuleSoft / Mule
• Other enterprise integration and middleware platforms

Key Responsibilities

• Act as a technical thought leader for enterprise application integration and middleware architecture.
• Design strategic and tactical middleware solutions, standards, and integration frameworks.
• Translate business and functional requirements into scalable technical architecture.
• Architect and design production and non-production environments.
• Lead the design and implementation of complex EDI and B2B integrations.
• Develop and maintain integration solutions using IBM Sterling Integrator and ITX.
• Design and support payment-related integrations involving NACHA, ACH, wire transfers, checks, and ISO 20022.
• Collaborate with application developers, business stakeholders, infrastructure teams, and other technical teams.
• Oversee the installation, configuration, upgrades, testing, troubleshooting, and debugging of middleware technologies.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to application/integration development teams.
• Establish and promote integration architecture standards, patterns, and best practices.
• Support both production and non-production middleware environments.
• Investigate complex integration issues and perform root-cause analysis.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and identify opportunities involving automation, DevOps, Cloud, blockchain, IoT, and modern integration platforms.
• Ensure integration solutions meet requirements for performance, scalability, reliability, security, and maintainability.
• Participate in architecture reviews, technical discussions, and stakeholder meetings.
