Active Directory Engineer (AWS/Terraform/Python)

Overview:

• We are seeking an experienced Active Directory / AWS Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in Microsoft Active Directory, AWS, Python, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• The ideal candidate will have experience designing, deploying, testing, troubleshooting, and automating Active Directory environments within AWS, including both AWS Managed and client-managed AD.

Responsibilities:

• Perform Active Directory creation, configuration, and testing in AWS, including both AWS Managed and Client-Managed AD environments.

• Manage and troubleshoot Active Directory environments in AWS.

• Document AD deployment and management standards for AWS environments.

• Design and document AD backup and restore procedures.

• Manage Development Active Directory environments in AWS.

• Implement entitlement delegation and user/group management standards.

• Integrate Active Directory with automation workflows.

• Integrate AD with SIEM and event collection solutions.

• Integrate AD with required security tooling.

• Troubleshoot client issues related to AWS Active Directory.

• Develop automation using Python.

• Implement infrastructure automation using Terraform and/or CloudFormation.

• Support AWS DevOps and cloud infrastructure activities.

• Create and maintain technical documentation and deployment standards.

Required Qualifications:

• Strong hands-on Microsoft Active Directory experience.

• Strong understanding of Group Policy (GPO).

• Experience with LDAP connectivity.

• Strong understanding of Kerberos and NTLM authentication.

• Experience with OU design.

• Experience with User and Group Management best practices.

• Experience with Active Directory backup and restore.

• Hands-on AWS experience and understanding of AWS cloud management concepts.

• Experience with AWS Managed Microsoft Active Directory.

• Experience managing non-AWS-managed Active Directory within AWS Cloud.

• Strong Python software development experience.

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and/or CloudFormation.

• Experience with AWS DevOps.

• Experience with DNS and VLANs.

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

• Knowledge of event collection concepts and options.

• Experience integrating AD with SIEM/security tooling.

• Strong technical documentation and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience designing and implementing enterprise Active Directory environments in AWS.

• Experience automating AD and AWS infrastructure using Python and IaC.

• Experience integrating Active Directory with security, monitoring, and automation platforms.

• Experience supporting both development and production AD environments in AWS.
