Job Summary

If you have a strong background in Mechanical Maintenance and Building Services, this could be the perfect opportunity for you. Our client is looking to recruit two experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineers to join their engineering team in Basildon, Essex.

You'll play a key role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the site's mechanical and plumbing services by carrying out both planned preventative and reactive maintenance across a wide range of plant and equipment.

Working within a fast-paced maintenance environment, you'll help maintain critical building services, minimise downtime, and ensure all systems operate safely, efficiently, and in line with health and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on mechanical plant and building services equipment

Respond to mechanical breakdowns, fault finding, and reactive repairs

Maintain and repair pumps, motors, valves, pipework, and associated mechanical systems

Carry out plumbing maintenance, including repairs to pipework, sanitaryware, taps, toilets, drainage systems, and water services

Service and maintain HVAC systems, heating systems, ventilation equipment, and associated plant

Complete repairs, minor installations, and mechanical improvement works

Diagnose equipment faults and implement effective engineering solutions

Maintain accurate maintenance records using the site's maintenance management system (CMMS)

Assist with contractor supervision and ensure all work is completed safely and to the required standard

Ensure full compliance with health & safety procedures and company policies

Support the continuous improvement and reliability of all site mechanical infrastructure

Requirements

Level 2/3 qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Plumbing, Building Services, or a related discipline

Previous experience working within a maintenance engineering or facilities maintenance environment

Experience maintaining mechanical plant, plumbing systems, and building services equipment

Strong fault-finding, problem-solving, and reactive maintenance skills

Knowledge of pumps, pipework, HVAC systems, valves, and water services would be advantageous

Right to work in the UK
