The Role

We are looking for an experienced Air Conditioning Engineer to join the engineering team at a large, established site in Tooting.

This is a static position offering an excellent salary of £50,000, with no requirement to travel between multiple sites. You will take responsibility for the planned and reactive maintenance of air conditioning systems across the estate, ensuring equipment is maintained to a high standard and technical issues are resolved efficiently.

The role would suit an experienced AC Engineer looking for a stable Monday-to-Friday position where they can become an integral part of the on-site engineering team.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across air conditioning assets
• Attend reactive maintenance and breakdowns
• Diagnose faults and provide effective technical solutions
• Carry out repairs and remedial works on AC equipment
• Monitor plant condition and identify potential issues before failures occur
• Source and organise parts required for maintenance and repairs
• Complete engineer reports and maintenance documentation
• Carry out risk assessments for maintenance activities
• Work in accordance with site Permit to Work procedures
• Liaise directly with the client and provide regular updates on ongoing works
• Escort and oversee specialist subcontractors when required
• Work alongside the wider engineering team to maintain the site to a high standard
• Ensure all work complies with current Health & Safety requirements

About You

• City & Guilds Refrigeration & Air Conditioning qualification or equivalent
• Strong experience maintaining air conditioning systems
• Good knowledge of mechanical building services
• Previous experience within a commercial building maintenance environment
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving ability
• Confident working independently as well as part of an engineering team
• Good communication skills with a professional, client-facing approach
• Strong understanding of Health & Safety and risk assessment procedures
• Flexible, reliable and proactive attitude
