ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform NDT inspections on components, materials, and assemblies using the NDT method(s) for which qualified and certified.
- Set up, standardize, calibrate, and operate NDT equipment in accordance with approved procedures, specifications, and manufacturer requirements.
- Interpret and evaluate inspection results and indications against applicable drawings, work instructions, specifications, and acceptance/rejection criteria.
- Accurately document inspection results, discrepancies, nonconformances, and inspection status on applicable forms, work orders, tags, logs, or electronic systems.
- Ensure NDT equipment, reference standards, tooling, and related inspection equipment are maintained in proper working order and within required calibration or verification intervals.
- Perform required process-control and system-performance checks and maintain associated records.
- Review applicable technical documentation, including engineering drawings, specifications, work instructions, and customer requirements.
- Communicate inspection findings clearly to Quality, Engineering, Operations, and management and support disposition or corrective-action activities as required.
- Evaluate and interpret NDT data or scans, including inspection of metallic and/or composite components as applicable to assigned work.
- Follow required shift-turnover procedures and ensure work status and inspection records are properly communicated and documented.
- Maintain required NDT qualification/certification, training, experience, and vision requirements in accordance with the Company's written practice and applicable standards.
- Assist with training or on-the-job guidance of NDT personnel when authorized and within the scope of Level II responsibilities.
- Participate in internal, customer, regulatory, or accreditation audits as requested.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area and comply with all Company safety, quality, security, and environmental procedures.
- Perform other duties and support cross-functional activities as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current or previous NDT Level II qualification/certification, or documented training and experience sufficient to qualify for employer certification, in one or more applicable NDT methods under the Company's written practice and applicable aerospace requirements (such as NAS 410, as required by the program/customer).
- Demonstrated knowledge of NDT principles, inspection techniques, equipment operation, process controls, and applicable acceptance criteria within the certified method(s).
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, procedures, work instructions, and technical documentation.
- Experience accurately documenting inspection results and nonconforming conditions.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, problem-solving ability, and sound judgment.
- Ability to work independently within the scope of Level II authorization and effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and electronic documentation systems.
- Ability to meet applicable vision and color-perception requirements for NDT certification.
- Ability to learn procedures quickly, manage multiple priorities, and work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Three or more years of NDT, quality inspection, or aerospace manufacturing experience.
- Aerospace, defense, space, or precision manufacturing experience.
- Level II qualification/certification in multiple NDT methods.
- Experience inspecting additively manufactured, machined, metallic, and/or composite components.
- Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and dimensional inspection.
- ASQ or other relevant quality/NDT certifications.
- Experience supporting Nadcap, AS9100, customer, or regulatory audits.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, and use hands to operate inspection equipment, tools, and computer systems.
- Must continually use visual acuity to perform inspections, evaluate indications, read technical information, and use a computer.
- Frequently required to lift, push, pull, or carry items up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Work may involve specialized inspection equipment and a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, chemicals, moving equipment, or other conditions requiring appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- May be required to work overtime, alternate shifts, or weekends based on production and customer requirements.
