Senior Kafka Administrator - Ansible

Location: Maryland (MD) / Onsite

Job Summary:

Seeking a Senior Kafka Administrator with strong Ansible automation expertise to administer production Confluent Kafka environments, automate deployments and operations, maintain observability, and ensure secure and reliable distributed systems.

Key Skills:

Strong production experience with Confluent Kafka
Extensive Ansible experience playbooks, roles, modules, debugging, and automation
Experience with Ansible Tower/AWX and Ansible Vault
Design idempotent and scalable automation across multiple environments
CI/CD, Git, and Jenkins integration
Strong Python and Bash scripting
Advanced Linux administration SELinux, systemd, permissions, networking
Kafka security: SSL/TLS, SASL, RBAC, MDS
Monitoring with Prometheus, Thanos, and Grafana
Kafka topics, schemas, connectors, and performance troubleshooting
Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and hybrid/cloud environments
Ability to convert manual processes into automated workflows and optimize environments
Ability to support and train teams on automation best practices
