Product Manager/Specialist AI, Data & Smart Manufacturing For Remote Role

Role Overview

We are looking for a Product Specialist to bridge business needs and technical solutions within a fast-moving, global Smart Manufacturing environment.

This is a highly business-facing role for someone who is comfortable working directly with customers and stakeholders to understand their challenges, identify opportunities, and translate those needs into practical product solutions. At the same time, this person should have technical depth to explore data, rapidly prototype ideas, and work effectively with engineering and data teams to bring solutions to life.

The ideal candidate does not need to be a traditional software engineer. We are looking for someone who thinks about the business problem first and can then use modern AI, data, cloud, and prototyping technologies to determine what is possible and quickly demonstrate what a solution could look like.

This role requires a combination of business acumen, product thinking, technical curiosity, and a strong bias for action.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner directly with business stakeholders and customers to understand business challenges, workflows, pain points, requirements, and opportunities.
• Lead discovery around new use cases and help define the business problem, desired outcomes, success metrics, and solution requirements.
• Translate business needs into clear product concepts, user stories, workflows, technical requirements, acceptance criteria, and actionable solutions.
• Serve as the bridge between business stakeholders, product teams, engineering, and data teams throughout the solution lifecycle.
• Rapidly prototype new concepts and use cases using modern AI-assisted development, low-code/no-code, and prototyping tools.
• Develop wireframes, proof-of-concepts, and early product experiences to validate ideas before moving solutions into broader engineering and delivery.
• Independently explore and analyze data to validate hypotheses, identify opportunities, and inform product decisions.
• Collaborate with data and engineering teams on data requirements, architecture considerations, integrations, and technical feasibility.
• Support AI and data-driven use cases across Smart Factory, digital manufacturing, and broader manufacturing environments.
• Define and track success metrics and KPIs for pilots, prototypes, and product capabilities.
• Support evaluation and monitoring of AI and LLM-based capabilities to understand solution performance and user experience.
• Participate in customer workshops, product demonstrations, discovery sessions, and solution discussions.
• Gather feedback from users and stakeholders and translate that feedback into product enhancements and roadmap priorities.
• Clearly communicate product capabilities, technical constraints, tradeoffs, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Collaborate with global teams and stakeholders across the U.S. and Europe to develop, pilot, and scale solutions.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5 7+ years of experience in Product Management, Product Ownership, Product Strategy, Solutions, Business Technology, Consulting, or a similar product-adjacent role.
• Strong business acumen and demonstrated experience working directly with business stakeholders or customers.
• Proven ability to take an ambiguous or complex business problem and translate it into a clear technology-enabled solution.
• Strong product thinking with experience defining requirements, prioritizing needs, and moving ideas from concept through prototype or delivery.
• Technical fluency and the ability to work effectively with software engineering, data engineering, and AI/ML teams without needing to be a full-time software engineer.
• Hands-on experience rapidly prototyping solutions, proof-of-concepts, or early product experiences.
• Strong data literacy, including hands-on SQL experience and the ability to independently explore and analyze data.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, modern data platforms, databases, and data engineering concepts.
• Understanding of AI/ML and Generative AI technologies and how they can be incorporated into enterprise products and workflows.
• Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment with a high degree of autonomy and ownership.
• Comfortable working across global teams and maintaining sufficient overlap with both European and U.S. working hours.

Preferred Technical Experience

Experience with the following:

• Cloud & AI: AWS Bedrock, Azure AI, or similar cloud AI platforms
• Data Platforms: Snowflake, data lakes, and modern enterprise data architectures
• Data & Analytics: SQL, Python, data analysis, and data engineering concepts
• Generative AI: LLMs, AI agents, copilots, RAG, and other AI-enabled product experiences
• AI Evaluation & Observability: Langfuse or similar LLM evaluation and monitoring platforms
• Product Design: Figma or similar wireframing and product design tools
• Rapid Prototyping: Cursor, Lovable, Replit, Retool, Vercel/Next.js, or similar AI-assisted development and prototyping tools
• Experience rapidly developing and validating proof-of-concepts before transitioning solutions to engineering teams

Preferred Industry Experience

• Pharmaceutical, life sciences, or manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with Smart Factory, digital manufacturing, manufacturing operations, industrial technology, or manufacturing transformation initiatives is highly desirable.
• Exposure to enterprise AI or data solutions within complex or regulated environments is a plus.
• Experience working in a startup, entrepreneurial environment, product incubation team, or other setting requiring rapid experimentation and iteration is highly desirable.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The strongest candidate will combine business orientation with technical curiosity.

They may have started their career in business, product, operations, consulting, or another customer-facing role and progressively developed stronger technical and data capabilities.

They should enjoy sitting with business stakeholders, understanding how they work and what problems they are trying to solve, and then getting hands-on enough with technology and data to quickly determine what is possible.

This person should be comfortable moving between a customer conversation, product whiteboarding session, dataset, prototype, and engineering discussion without needing to be the deepest technical expert in the room.

They are naturally curious, entrepreneurial, willing to work outside traditional role boundaries, and comfortable experimenting with new technologies and approaches. Most importantly, they can move quickly from problem concept prototype feedback scalable solution.

Location & Working Model

• Candidates may be based in the U.S. or Europe.
• The role will support global stakeholders, pilots, and deployments.
• Candidates must have sufficient working-hour overlap across European and U.S. teams.
• Strong customer and stakeholder interaction is a core component of the role.

Success in this role means being able to sit with a business stakeholder, understand the problem they are trying to solve, and turn that problem into something tangible.

You can identify the right use case, define what success should look like, explore the underlying data, develop or help develop a prototype, gather feedback, and work with technical teams to evolve the concept into a scalable solution.

Ultimately, this role is successful when business problems are translated into useful products quickly, thoughtfully, and with measurable impact.
