Job Description
Offensive Security Operations Engineer The successful candidate will perform reverse engineering and software development for advanced security operations on network-based devices. The candidate will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment to design, implement, and integrate tactical software solutions while collaborating closely with analysts, operators, data scientists, and other engineers.
Responsibilities
- Derive, document, and analyze stakeholder requirements for advanced security operations.
- Port, modify or augment existing toolsets to support mission objectives.
- Provide rapid prototypes to validate concepts early and gather user feedback.
- Create production-ready tools that operate within mission constraints.
Required Skills
- Familiarity with Unix-based systems (e.g., BSD, Linux).
- Experience with reverse engineering Linux-based network devices using Ghidra and/or IDA Pro.
- In-depth understanding of network protocols such as TCP/IP and analysis of network traffic with tools like Wireshark.
- Able to produce and modify software systems in C/C++/Python/Assembly.
- Provide support for fielded software systems.
- Familiarity with version control systems (Git, Subversion) and Atlassian Tools (Jira, Confluence).
- Experience with reverse engineering various RTOS or MS Windows™.
- Knowledge of RISC processors like MIPS, POWER, ARM.
- Experience with Java, JavaScript, Bash, PowerShell, Perl, C#, Rust, Go.
- Background in developing offensive security operations specific software for Linux/Windows/Embedded applications.
- Experience with vulnerability research and exploit development.
- Knowledge of end-to-end signals intelligence collection and analysis systems.
- Experience with production offensive security operations capabilities and operations.
Experience Required: 6 years with Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or 4 additional years without a degree Location: Columbia, MD Clearance: TS/SCI with Polygraph required Salary Range: $174,000 - $207,000
