Job Description

If you are a Solutions Business Development Manager, Custody Transfer Metering and Process Gas & Liquid Analytical professional looking for an opportunity to grow your career, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you. In this role, you will lead business development activities for Custody Transfer Metering and Process Gas & Liquid Analytical solutions by identifying new opportunities, developing pursuit strategies, and delivering customer value. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve complex customer challenges, win capital projects, and grow recurring revenue through service and digital offerings.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Lead business performance and growth initiatives by delivering orders and sales commitments, increasing bookings and pipeline strength, and growing market share across engineered solutions and services.
  • Identify, create, and pursue new business opportunities for metering, analytical, and monitoring system solutions, independently and in partnership with account managers, project pursuit managers.
  • Engage customers and EPCs early in the project lifecycle to influence specifications and solution selection.
  • Develop differentiated technical solutions that deliver customer value and business growth.
  • Lead or support strategic project pursuits and proposal development.
  • Identify lifecycle service, upgrade, digitalization, and recurring revenue opportunities.
  • Demonstrate highly effective global collaboration and lead/manage where appropriate within Measurement Systems & Services global Center of Excellence throughout the quote to cash engagement cycle. This includes, but not limited to proposal, project management, engineering, fabrication and supply chain teams and work processes.
  • Monitor market trends, industry developments, customer needs, and competitive activities to identify growth opportunities and strengthen market positioning.
  • Gather and share customer feedback to support continuous improvement of solutions, and customer experiences.
  • Maintain accurate opportunity, customer, and project information within CRM and business management systems.
  • Participate in local related professional societies, key technical conferences, and trade shows

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • 5+ years in technical Business Development, solutions architecture, or capital project pursuits — ideally touching custody transfer metering, process gas & liquid analytical systems, or instrumentation/controls
  • Bachelor’s in Engineering or equivalent practical experience 
  • Comfortable negotiating and building relationships across functions, cultures, and time zones
  • Able to travel ~50% across North America
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States is required. Sponsorship will not be provided for this position.

Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:

  • Experience working in matrix or global organization.
  • Experience in Custody Transfer Metering Systems, Process Gas & Liquid Analytical Systems, Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems, and Steam Water Analysis Systems.
  • EPC-side project experience; LNG, refining, petrochemical, power, pipeline, or offshore exposure
  • Advanced degree in Engineering or Business
