Cyber Security Manager - Resources Industry

Location: UK-wide

Working pattern: Hybrid, with travel to client sites

Salary: Up to £106,000 + benefits

Security clearance: BPSS and SC clearance required

We are recruiting an experienced Cyber Security Manager to join a leading global technology and transformation consultancy.

You will lead cybersecurity consulting engagements for major clients across the energy, utilities, chemicals and resources sectors. This role combines security advisory, programme delivery, team leadership and business development.

Key responsibilities

Client and project delivery
  • Lead complex cybersecurity projects and programmes from initiation through to delivery.
  • Build trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders.
  • Conduct security assessments, workshops and cyber-risk reviews.
  • Develop practical recommendations that improve security resilience and regulatory compliance.
  • Oversee delivery quality, project governance and stakeholder communication.
Security advisory
  • Advise clients across cyber strategy, governance, risk and compliance.
  • Support operational technology and industrial cybersecurity initiatives.
  • Contribute to security operations and SOC transformation.
  • Advise on identity and access management.
  • Assess security risks associated with AI and emerging technologies.
  • Develop security frameworks, policies and governance models.
  • Support the design and implementation of security improvements.
Business development
  • Identify opportunities across existing and prospective client accounts.
  • Support proposals, bids, presentations and sales activity.
  • Develop trusted relationships that contribute to account growth.
  • Help expand the organisation's security capability within the resources sector.
  • Contribute to thought leadership and industry engagement.
Team leadership
  • Manage, mentor and develop cybersecurity consultants.
  • Provide technical direction and delivery oversight.
  • Share knowledge and support capability development across the wider team.
Essential experience
  • Significant experience in cybersecurity consulting, security advisory or programme delivery.
  • Experience leading complex security engagements and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks such as:
  • NIST Cybersecurity Framework
  • ISO 27001
  • NCSC Cyber Assessment Framework
  • Network and Information Systems Regulations
  • Expertise in one or more of the following:
  • Cyber strategy
  • Governance, risk and compliance
  • Operational technology security
  • Security operations
  • Identity and access management
  • Cyber-risk management
  • Experience advising senior executives and business leaders.
  • A track record of contributing to business development, proposals or account growth.
  • Excellent communication, consulting and leadership skills.
Desirable experience
  • Experience within energy, utilities, chemicals, manufacturing or Critical National Infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of industrial control systems and operational technology environments.
  • Understanding of AI security risks and emerging technologies.
  • Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, GICSP or CRISC.
Security requirements

Any offer of employment will be subject to satisfactory BPSS and SC clearance.

Applicants must have at least five years' continuous UK address history, typically without any period of 30 consecutive days or more spent outside the UK.
