Snowflake Administrator

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Snowflake Administrator for a contract assignment with one of our premier Healthcare Services clients in Jacksonville, FL .
Responsibilities :

• Snowflake Platform Administration
  • Manage accounts, databases, schemas, warehouses, roles, and users.
  • Configure and maintain virtual warehouses based on workload needs.
  • Monitor platform health, performance, and usage.
  • Manage upgrades, new features, and configuration changes.
  • Support production environments and resolve Snowflake-related issues.
• User, Role & Access Management
  • Create and manage users, roles, and hierarchies.
  • Implement RBAC and least privilege access.
  • Manage authentication (SSO, MFA).
  • Review and maintain permissions per security policies.
• Performance & Workload Optimization
  • Monitor query performance and identify inefficient queries.
  • Optimize warehouse sizing, scaling, caching, and auto suspend/resume.
  • Collaborate with engineers to troubleshoot performance issues.
• Cost Optimization
  • Monitor credit consumption and storage usage.
  • Identify cost saving opportunities and implement resource monitors.
  • Provide usage and cost trend reports.
• Security & Data Governance
  • Implement Snowflake security best practices.
  • Manage data access controls and security policies.
  • Support auditing, compliance, and governance requirements.
  • Monitor administrative activities using logs and audit tools.
• Data Operations & Support
  • Support data loading/unloading and integration workflows.
  • Monitor pipelines and troubleshoot data availability issues.
  • Resolve issues related to schemas, stages, file formats, and data sharing.
• Cloud Integration & Automation (Role dependent)
  • Integrate Snowflake with cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
  • Automate tasks using Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
  • Support ETL/ELT processes and tools (Airflow, Matillion, Informatica).

Required Skills :

• 3-5+ years of Snowflake administration experience.
• Strong SQL and database optimization skills.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/Google Cloud Platform).
• Scripting experience (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
• Knowledge of ETL/ELT and data warehousing concepts.
• Snowflake certifications (e.g., SnowPro Core) are a plus.
