Network Systems Engineer
Location: Onsite in Phoenix, AZ
Type: Contract-to-Hire (3 months)
Motion Recruitment is partnering with a well-established organization in Phoenix to hire a Network Systems Engineer for their in-house IT team. This is a hands-on role in a Cisco environment with exposure across network, server, storage, and data center infrastructure. It's a great fit for someone who wants broad experience rather than being boxed into a single lane.
What You'll Do

• Install, configure, and administer network, server, storage, and data center environments
• Handle 2nd line support for incidents and changes, with escalation paths above you
• Monitor performance and capacity, and help forecast infrastructure needs
• Write and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and configuration standards
• Participate in and help lead IT projects including upgrades and rollouts
• Support network hardware, servers, data storage, and workstations
• Maintain backup systems
• Travel up to 10% as needed

What We're Looking For

• Hands-on experience in a Cisco infrastructure environment
• Solid grasp of LAN, WAN, WLAN, DNS, subnetting, routing, and switching
• Exposure to SD-WAN, VoIP, virtualization, or Microsoft 365 and Azure is a plus
• CCNA certification, or actively working toward it
• Technical degree, bachelor's, or equivalent hands-on experience
• Strong documentation habits and clear communication
• Humble, team-first approach. This is a lean team where everyone pitches in
• Comfortable with hands-on physical work, including racking equipment and occasional lifting up to 50 lbs
