Security Engineering Manager

🚨 Security Engineering Manager | Hybrid (London) | Inside IR35 | £700-£800 p/d 🚨

A leading household-name organisation is undergoing a major transformation and is looking for a Security Engineering Manager to join their Cyber Defence & Engineering team.

This is a leadership-focused role responsible for overseeing a small security engineering function, driving operational effectiveness and ensuring the successful delivery of both BAU security activities and strategic security initiatives.

Working across internal technology teams and multiple suppliers, you'll provide direction, prioritisation and governance for security engineering activities while helping shape the roadmap for key cyber capabilities across the organisation.

Key skills & experience:

• Leading and developing security engineering teams
• Managing the delivery of both BAU security operations and project-based initiatives
• Driving outcomes across internal stakeholders, suppliers and managed service providers
• Establishing processes, governance, reporting and operational best practice
• Prioritising engineering activities and aligning delivery to business risk and security objectives
• Supporting the implementation and optimisation of security technologies and services
• Providing technical leadership while remaining credible with engineering, infrastructure, cloud and network teams

Technology & Domain Experience

We're keen to speak with managers who have experience across some of the following:

✅ SIEM and Security Operations platforms (e.g. Sentinel)

✅ Network and Cloud Security

✅ Security Tooling, Monitoring & Detection

✅ Managed Security Services & MSP Oversight

You don't need to be the most hands-on engineer in the team, but you should be comfortable discussing security technologies, challenging suppliers and providing leadership across a modern security engineering function.
