Role Overview
Our organization is seeking a Senior Electronic Assembly Technician for a program located in San Antonio, TX. This role is responsible for the fabrication, assembly, and testing of electrical and electronic systems. The technician will work from engineering drawings and apply technical knowledge to support the design, development, and sustainment of various hardware and integrated product solutions for avionics systems.
Key Responsibilities

• Fabricate, assemble, and operate test apparatus and related equipment for electrical and electronic systems.
• Construct electrical and electronic systems from components according to engineering drawings, using hand tools and measurement instruments.
• Troubleshoot electrical and electronic equipment, circuitry, and data collection devices.
• Determine material or replacement needs and execute repairs.
• Interpret limited documentation and verbal instructions to determine system design and instrumentation needs.
• Determine the sequence of operations and provide design details or recommend modifications to engineering designs.
• Assemble Circuit Card Assemblies, Cable Assemblies, and Enclosures.
• Interface with vendor support service groups to resolve technical problems.

Required Qualifications
Experience:

• Ideally 6+ years of experience in electronic assembly, including soldering and cabling.
• Must have the ability to read and understand engineering drawings and schematics.
• Experience with low-rate production, electronic manufacturing operations, and ISO-9000 or AS-9100 certification programs is required.

Technical Skills:

• Proficient in assembling, wiring, soldering, and crimping per drawing specifications.
• Skilled in troubleshooting and testing electrical circuits.
• Nice to Have: IPC J-STD-001 Certification
• Nice to Have: IPC WHMA-A-620 Certification
• Nice to Have: IPC-A610 Certifications

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience soldering CCAs.
• Experience using an ERP system.
• Experience operating a laser cutter.
• Experience inventorying or maintaining a hazardous materials program.
• Experience mentoring or training other technicians.
