At ADVICS Manufacturing Indiana, we are proud to manufacture advanced braking systems that save lives, improving safety and comfort in an environmentally responsible manner. The Human Resources Generalist in an important role that balances the needs of the team members with the needs of the business.

This role is responsible for the daily functions of the Human Resources Department, including engaging with team members with collaboration and communication, facilitating recruitment and retention of strong ADVICS team, and facilitating programs and policies that meet the organizational objectives and compliance. Participate in the development of HR objectives and systems, such as department metrics, HR program management, policies, process and work instructions, and business reporting.

Protect the team members and business by assisting in the development, communication, and compliance with all policies, procedures, and laws – and provide guidance and interpretation for business operations
Ensure HR program and policies are aligned with business needs and positive team member experience, including communication, recognition, inclusion, and professional development/training.

Ensure strong, collaborative workforce with effective recruiting and retention programs and processes
Provide dedicated and effective HR assistance/support to all team members that covers leave of absence and FMLA management, conduct and capability, complaints/concerns, organizational change, and all other employee-relations matters
Ensure smooth onboarding process for all exempt and non-exempt team members in collaboration with managers to deliver exceptional first week experience, including new hire orientation, resources, training plan, communication, and system/process setup
Facilitate/assist with payroll processing and benefits administration, including understanding payroll practices, team member accruals and bonus programs, employee benefits and benefit change processes. performance and talent management; and training and development.

Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law. Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.

Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; Lead and facilitate investigation and resolution of compliance issues, such as harassment, team member conflict, performance management, ethics
May assist with constructive and timely coaching and performance feedback.

May lead projects collaboratively with other departments
Customer Focus - HR Advisor for all team members
Problem Solving - Ability to problem solve with root cause analysis and think critically
Effective project management skills
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or other related field
At least one year of human resources experience
At least 3 years of human resources experience
HR certification
Background in training and safety management
This is a full-time, exempt position that works primarily Monday-Friday, supporting all shifts as needed.
