Job Description:

Overview: As an End User Computing Specialist, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing the end-user computing environment within our organization. Your role will focus on ensuring that all users have reliable access to the necessary technology resources, providing technical support, and implementing solutions to enhance user productivity and satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

Technical Support and Issue Resolution:

  • Serve as a subject matter expert for all end-user computing technologies, including desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and associated software.
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting and technical support for complex issues escalated from Level 1 and Level 2 support teams.
  • Ensure timely resolution of critical incidents to minimize downtime and impact on business operations.

System Administration and Optimization:

  • Manage and maintain desktop operating systems (e.g., Windows, macOS) and software applications, ensuring they are up-to-date and secure.
  • Implement and maintain endpoint management solutions for efficient software distribution, patch management, and remote support.
  • Optimize end-user computing environments to enhance performance, reliability, and security.

User Training and Documentation:

  • Develop and deliver training sessions and workshops to educate users on best practices for using technology tools and applications effectively.
  • Create and update documentation, user guides, and knowledge base articles to empower users to troubleshoot common issues independently.

Security and Compliance:

  • Implement and enforce security policies and procedures to protect end-user devices, data, and systems from security threats.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational standards.

Technology Evaluation and Implementation:

  • Research, evaluate, and recommend new technologies, tools, and solutions to improve end-user computing capabilities and user experience.
  • Lead or participate in projects related to the deployment, integration, and migration of end-user computing systems and applications.

Customer Service and Relationship Management:

  • Foster positive relationships with end users and stakeholders, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction through responsive and effective support.
  • Communicate technical information and updates to non-technical users in a clear and understandable manner.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as an End User Computing Specialist, Desktop Support Engineer, or similar role, with a strong technical background in supporting end-user technologies.
  • In-depth knowledge of desktop operating systems, productivity software (e.g., Microsoft Office, collaboration tools), and endpoint security principles.
  • Experience with endpoint management tools (e.g., SCCM, Jamf, Intune) and remote support technologies.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues independently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-focused approach.
  • Bachelor s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field;
  • relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate) are a plus.
