  • Managing relationships and communication with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Producing, reviewing and checking technical documentation and engineering drawings in line with relevant standards.
  • Ensuring all engineering outputs are independently checked and meet required quality specifications.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant UK rail industry standards, regulations and safety requirements.
  • Undertaking site surveys and providing on-site engineering support for installations, testing and inspections.
  • Supporting Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) and First Article Inspections (FAI).
  • Supporting project planning, reporting, resource allocation and programme management.
  • Managing multiple project requirements whilst ensuring delivery against agreed timescales and budgets.
  • Supporting business development activities and promoting engineering capabilities where appropriate.

About You

  • A degree in a relevant engineering discipline (BEng/MEng), ideally with a 2:2 or above.
  • Previous experience in a Project Engineering role within an engineering or design-led environment.
  • A good understanding of the UK rail industry, including relevant standards and regulations.
  • Proven experience managing or delivering engineering projects from concept through to implementation.
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams and managing technical stakeholders.
  • An understanding of engineering documentation, technical drawings and quality assurance processes.
  • Chartered Engineer status (IMechE, IET or equivalent), or actively working towards chartership.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple projects, competing priorities and deadlines.
  • A flexible and proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • A full UK driving licence and willingness to undertake occasional site visits.

If you are an experienced Project Engineer with a background in rail or a similar engineering environment and are looking for an opportunity to take ownership of technically challenging projects, we would be keen to hear from you.
