This role is central to RDI’s mission to accelerate diagnostic innovation by ensuring that every test, sample, and report meets the highest standards of accuracy and compliance. You will oversee testing operations, maintain regulatory compliance, and collaborate with scientists, study teams, and leadership to deliver reliable clinical data for diagnostics development.
About RDI
RDI is a nimble, full-service CRO focused on accelerating in-vitro diagnostic (IVD) development. We operate our own CLIA-certified, CAP-accredited lab to help diagnostics innovators run smarter, faster studies — without the friction. Our team connects clinical sites, investigators, and laboratory expertise to bring clarity and speed to clinical trials and regulatory submissions. At RDI, every role contributes directly to getting better diagnostics to patients faster.
The Right Person Has
- A strong understanding of laboratory compliance, quality systems, and assay validation.
- High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
- The ability to collaborate across scientific, operational, and client-facing teams.
- A proactive approach to identifying and resolving process or technical issues.
- A sense of ownership and pride in producing high-quality, compliant work.
What You’ll Do
- Perform and oversee testing, validation, and verification of assays, instruments, and methodologies.
- Ensure compliance with CLIA, CAP, FDA, and RDI laboratory policies and procedures.
- Maintain quality assurance and quality control standards, including documentation and reporting.
- Monitor and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment; ensure calibration and preventative maintenance.
- Develop, implement, and manage the laboratory’s proficiency testing program.
- Train and assess competency of laboratory personnel.
- Maintain accurate, organized, and timely laboratory records and data systems.
- Collaborate with internal study teams and clients on testing methods, timelines, and data interpretation.
- Identify and communicate opportunities for process improvement to enhance lab efficiency and accuracy.
What You’ll Bring
- Current and valid California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) License required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Medical Technology, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in a clinical or research laboratory environment.
- Knowledge of CLIA, CAP, and FDA regulatory requirements.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Why Join Us!
At RDI, you’ll be part of a team dedicated to advancing science and improving patient outcomes. You’ll have the opportunity to work hands-on with innovative diagnostic technologies while contributing to the foundation of quality and accuracy that drives our mission.
