Cook – Guzman y Gomez (GYG) Manly Wharf

At Guzman y Gomez Mexican Kitchen, our mission has always been to reinvent fast-food. We’re Australia’s only fast-food restaurant to be 100% clean, meaning there are no added preservatives, artificial flavours, added colours or unacceptable additives in our food. We’re incredibly proud of our amazing people, and the unique way we celebrate Mexican culture in everything we do.

About the Role
Are you energetic, reliable, and passionate about fresh food? Guzman y Gomez Manly Wharf is looking for Casual Cooks to join our fast-paced kitchen team right on the water!

As a GYG Cook, you are at the absolute heart of our restaurant operations. You won't just be assembly-lining fast food; you will be working with 100% clean, fresh ingredients to bring vibrant Mexican flavours to life for hundreds of locals and tourists every day.

What You'll Do:

• Prepare fresh ingredients and cook premium proteins according to the GYG recipe guide.

• Master the grill, station presentation, and high-volume food prep.

• Maintain exceptional food safety, sanitation, and kitchen cleanliness standards.

• Work collaboratively with the front-of-house crew to ensure rapid, high-quality order fulfilment.

What We’re Looking For:

• Attitude Over Experience: Prior commercial kitchen experience is highly desirable, but a "can-do" attitude, punctuality, and eagerness to learn are what matter most. We provide full training!

• Speed & Stamina: Ability to thrive under pressure in a bustling, fast-paced environment.

• Team Players: A friendly, approachable demeanour and great communication skills.

• Availability: Flexibility to work a mix of morning, day, or late-night closing shifts, including weekends.

• Compliance: Working rights in Australia.

What’s In It For You?

• Great Pay: Competitive wages paid in line with the Fast-Food Industry Award.

• Discounted Staff Meals: Enjoy discounted, delicious GYG meals on your shifts!

• Prime Location: Work in a beautiful location at Manly Wharf, steps away from the beach, ferry and buses.

• Growth: Comprehensive training pathways to help you move into Head Cook or Shift Leader roles.

• Culture: Join a supportive, high-energy team with regular crew rewards and competitions.
