GENERAL DESCRIPTION - PURPOSE OF ROLE:
The Diagnostic Technician provides technical troubleshooting expertise and customer support in collaboration with the Customer Service and Support Department. This role diagnoses mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and PLC-related issues; reviews drawings and technical documentation; and guides customers and field service technicians through effective solutions. The position coordinates with internal departments to resolve complex problems, supports field service activities as needed, and helps ensure timely service and a high level of customer satisfaction.
Essential Functions:
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
· Assist customers and field service technicians in resolving technical problems.
· Review drawings and internal documentation to identify potential solutions and guide customers through issue resolution.
· Collaborate with other departments as needed to develop technical solutions and resolve customer issues.
· Provide backup support for field service technicians as needed.
· Participate in after-hours coverage and travel as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements below represent the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed for the role.
· Technical degree in electronics or electrical systems required.
· Minimum of three years of related work experience required.
· Ability to read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics.
· Knowledge of and experience with the following PLC systems and software:
o RE Linx
o RS 500
o RS 5000
· Ability to speak and understand Spanish preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
The successful candidate should:
· Demonstrate strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
· Demonstrate strong verbal, written, and documentation skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office, Salesforce, and email.
· Maintain a proactive, positive attitude and strong customer service and interpersonal skills
