๐Ÿ’™ Make a Difference That Matters โ€“ Become a Mental Health Support Worker at Northern Healthcare

Every Day Is an Opportunity to Change a Life

What if your next job was more than just a job? What if it was an opportunity to help someone rebuild their confidence, rediscover their independence and take meaningful steps towards a brighter future?

At Northern Healthcare, thatโ€™s exactly what we do.

Weโ€™re looking for a compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Support Worker to join our team at Holland House in Preston. This role is ideal for someone who can predominantly work waking nights, while also being flexible to cover day shifts when required.

๐Ÿ“ Location: Holland House, Preston
๐Ÿ’ท Starting rate: ยฃ12.91 per hour
๐ŸŒ™ Shift pattern: Predominantly waking nights, with flexibility to cover days when required

Whether youโ€™re experienced in care or looking to begin a rewarding career in mental health support, weโ€™d love to hear from you.

๐Ÿก Discover Holland House โ€“ Supporting People to Move Forward

Holland House is a mental health supported living service based in Preston, providing a safe and supportive environment for adults working towards recovery and greater independence.

Our team supports people with a range of mental health needs, helping them develop the confidence, skills and stability to move forward with their lives.

Weโ€™re proud of the difference our colleagues make by creating opportunities for people to feel listened to, valued and empowered.

At Holland House, meaningful support can be found in the everyday moments โ€” encouraging someone to try something new, helping them reconnect with their community, or being there to offer reassurance when things feel difficult.

Our service also supports people through important transitions, helping them build practical skills and work towards their individual recovery goals.

๐ŸŒŸ What Will You Be Doing?

No two days are the same. Youโ€™ll work alongside a dedicated team to provide person-centred support that helps people live fulfilling, meaningful and independent lives.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Promoting independence: Helping people develop everyday living skills and confidence in their abilities.

  • Supporting daily routines: Assisting with cooking, meal preparation, budgeting, household tasks and personal organisation.

  • Encouraging wellbeing: Supporting people with medication, appointments and healthy routines in line with their support plans and training.

  • Building connections: Helping people access local activities, maintain relationships and feel part of their community.

  • Providing emotional support: Listening without judgement, offering reassurance and helping people work through challenges.

  • Supporting recovery goals: Encouraging people to recognise their strengths, celebrate progress and take positive steps towards greater independence.

  • Working as a team: Communicating effectively with colleagues and other professionals to provide consistent, high-quality support.

  • Maintaining accurate records: Recording information and sharing updates to support safe and effective care.

As this role is predominantly waking nights, youโ€™ll also play an important part in maintaining a safe, reassuring and supportive environment overnight, while remaining flexible to support day shifts when required.

The most rewarding part of the role? Seeing someone achieve something they once thought was out of reach โ€” and knowing you played a part in helping them get there.
