Transportation Permit Specialist (100% Onsite)

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• As a Transportation Permit Specialist you will have the opportunity to work on a small diverse team that is responsible for administering permits for over dimensional and overweight tractor
• trailers. These movements require special assistance and directions to move safely
• throughout the state.

• Review oversize and overweight permits for accuracy and completeness.
• Review oversize and overweight permits for routes and restrictions to ensure safetravel
• throughout the state.
• Review oversize and overweight permits to ensure compliance with current rules and laws.
• Provide customer support to commercial carriers requiring permit status and updates.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

• Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree.
• -OR -
• Graduation from an accredited college with an associate degree plus two years of increasingly responsible experience.
• - OR -
• Education equivalent to graduation from a standard high school plus four years of increasingly responsible experience.

Experience:

• Motor carrier permit registration experience preferred.
• Customer Service experience required.
• Analytical experience related to determining compliance with state and federal rules, regulations, or related standards preferred.
• Experience with Transportation or Logistics Operations to include freight movement and tracking (heavy haul and permit purchasing) helpful.
• Data and systems experience preferred.
• Experience with permit management and permit routing software preferred.
• GIS tools experience preferred.
• Work Location: On-site 100%
