Position Description
Employees in this role are responsible for designing, developing, testing, implementing, and maintaining software applications and solutions that support business objectives and customer needs. This position focuses heavily on the Atlassian ecosystem, including Jira Software, Jira Service Management, Jira Work Management, Confluence, and Atlassian Analytics. The successful candidate will work across the full software development lifecycle, support Agile delivery teams, and help drive process automation, system integrations, and AI-enabled capabilities within the Atlassian platform.

The successful candidate will work across the full software development lifecycle, support Agile delivery teams, and help drive process automation, system integrations, and AI-enabled capabilities within the Atlassian platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with customers and stakeholders to understand business challenges, requirements, and user needs while advocating for user-centric solutions.
- Design, develop, configure, customize, and enhance Atlassian solutions to support Product Development, Manufacturing, and Quality Management processes.
- Assess application and business requirements to determine the appropriate technology stack, integration approach, and deployment strategy.
- Create and maintain software architecture, technical designs, process models, business capability models, integration models, data models, and other architecture artifacts.
- Configure and customize Jira workflows, screens, permissions, automation rules, dashboards, reports, and integrations.
- Develop custom workflows, scripts, plugins, and automations to extend Jira and Confluence capabilities.
- Integrate Atlassian solutions with enterprise systems, CI/CD pipelines, and development tools to create seamless workflows across teams.
- Support implementation of functional AI capabilities within Atlassian products, including machine learning and Large Language Model (LLM) integrations for intelligent ticket classification, summarization, recommendations, analytics, and conversational interfaces.
- Collaborate closely with product owners, architects, engineers, designers, quality teams, manufacturing teams, and other cross-functional stakeholders.
- Define and implement software testing strategies, guidelines, policies, and processes aligned with organizational standards and industry best practices.
- Continuously optimize platform performance, improve system efficiency, and evaluate emerging technologies.
- Support secure software development practices, including data protection, encryption, and privacy controls.
- Perform Atlassian environment administration, support activities, upgrades, and data migrations while ensuring data integrity and minimal operational disruption.
- Create and maintain Confluence spaces, permissions, documentation, knowledge repositories, technical designs, and future-state architecture documentation.
- Deliver solutions within established timelines and budget constraints while managing multiple concurrent initiatives.

- 8+ years of experience with the Atlassian Suite, including:
- Jira Software
- Jira Service Management (JSM)
- Jira Work Management
- Confluence
- Atlassian Analytics
- 5+ years of experience supporting Agile software development methodologies and FLOW Framework practices.
- Strong experience configuring and customizing Atlassian products.
- Proficiency with JavaScript, JSP, SQL, Python, and related programming languages.
- Strong scripting experience using Python, Groovy, or similar technologies for workflow automation and integrations.
- Experience with configuration management and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, SonarQube, Maven, and related platforms.
- Experience integrating Atlassian products with enterprise systems such as CRM, ERP, and other business applications.
- Experience integrating Large Language Models (LLMs) and AI capabilities with Jira and other Atlassian products.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to break down complex problems into actionable solutions in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
Software Engineer II (Engineer 2)
- 4+ years of overall IT experience.
- 3+ years of software development experience.
- Experience with at least one programming language or development framework.
- Experience implementing Atlassian solutions within automotive manufacturing environments.
- Strong understanding of Product Development, Manufacturing, and Quality Management processes.
- Experience integrating Atlassian products with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools.
- Experience performing Atlassian cloud-to-cloud, server-to-cloud, or enterprise data migrations.
- Experience developing custom Jira workflows, scripts, plugins, and automations.
- Experience creating and maintaining enterprise knowledge management solutions within Confluence.
- Experience developing architecture documentation, business capability models, process models, integration diagrams, and technical design artifacts.
- Ability to work independently while effectively managing multiple priorities and business-critical initiatives.
- Experience delivering scalable, cost-effective solutions within project timelines and budget constraints.
