Engineering Technician, Integration & Test with Security Clearance

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking an Engineering Technician, Integration && Test to support a company focused on developing advanced communications, networking, and information systems that enable mission success for U.S. military operations. This position is on-site in San Diego, CA . The Engineering Technician will support systems integration, RF testing, tactical communications validation, and network configuration efforts within both laboratory and field environments. This is an opportunity to work directly with cutting-edge military communications systems, tactical data links, and RF technologies supporting critical national defense missions. Responsibilities for the Engineering Technician include:

• Support the physical integration, configuration, and testing of networked communication systems and tactical radio platforms.
• Perform RF validation activities including signal flow testing, VSWR measurements, insertion loss analysis, and troubleshooting of RF components.
• Maintain system integration lab environments, including server installation, cable management, hardware maintenance, and test equipment cali bration.
• Execute test procedures during developmental and operational testing events, supporting troubleshooting and issue resolution across Linux, Windows, networking, and RF systems.
• Deploy and configure tactical communications systems, load cryptographic keys and mission plans, and support field and flight-line testing operations. Required Qualifications for the Engineering Technician include:
• 2+ years of experience supporting Linux and Windows systems administration in a technical laboratory, integration, test, or operational environment.
• Hands-on experience with tactical radios, RF systems, software-defined radios, Link 16, TTNT, PRC-158, PRC-163, PRC-167, or similar military communications platforms.
• Strong understanding of Layer 2/Layer 3 networking, routing, switching, VLANs, IP subnetting, COMSEC procedures, cryptographic key management, and network troubleshooting.
• Experience executing test procedures, operating RF test equipment (Spectrum Analyzers, Power Meters, VNAs), and supporting systems integration activities.
• Associate degree in a STEM field with 4+ years of relevant experience, Bachelor's degree in a STEM field with 1+ years of experience, or equivalent military/professional experience.
• Active Interim Secret Clearance or Active Secret Clearance; ability to maintain clearance eligibility.
• Ability to support up to 10%-30% travel as required.
