Job Description

Senior Data Governance Analyst
Richmond,VA
Hybrid

Required Experience

  • Minimum 10 years in Data Governance, Management, Quality, or related disciplines.

  • Proven experience implementing enterprise governance programs and leading stakeholder workshops.

  • Strong SQL skills for data analysis, profiling, and validation.

  • Hands-on background documenting metadata, glossaries, data dictionaries, and Critical Data Elements (CDEs).

  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS S3, Glue), modern data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake), Python, and BI tools (e.g., Power BI).

  • Background in highly regulated enterprise environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Governance & Stewardship: Drive program implementation, onboard new applications, and partner with data owners to define policies and standards.

  • Metadata & Lineage: Capture business/technical metadata, maintain the enterprise glossary, and document end-to-end data flows.

  • Data Quality: Define quality rules, monitor metrics, perform reconciliation, and assist with remediation planning.

  • Platform Collaboration: Support cloud data pipelines, data lake layers (raw, curated, analytical), and Information Lifecycle Management (ILM).

  • Communication: Present governance metrics and requirements to executive and technical audiences.
