Job description

Join a team where innovation meets mission. Our AI, cloud, cyber, and modernization solutions save agencies thousands of hours, safeguard national security, and strengthen health and humanitarian missions worldwide. With more than 1,700+ team members, 1,500+ AI & data experts, and 100+ prime contracts, we deliver at scale and with purpose. We have been recognized as a Top Workplace by The Washington Post for six consecutive years and named to the Inc. 5000 list of Fastest-Growing Private Companies in 13 of the past 14 years. Credence is a welcoming environment for those looking to grow and make a meaningful impact. We encourage employees to push boundaries and help solve critical, world-changing federal challenges.

Position Summary Credence has an immediate need for a Systems Administrator to support and secure our enterprise IT environment across Microsoft 365, Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud Platform. This role handles day-to-day systems administration, endpoint management, identity and access administration, and Tier II escalation support for a hybrid workforce operating under federal contractor compliance requirements.

Success in this role requires strong Microsoft endpoint and identity administration experience, hands-on vulnerability remediation work, scripting ability in PowerShell or Python, and the judgment to resolve escalated issues independently while documenting what was done.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the duties listed below: Systems and Endpoint Administration • Administer and maintain cloud-hosted and endpoint systems across Windows, macOS, and Linux. • Manage endpoints using Microsoft Endpoint Manager, including Microsoft Intune policy administration and Windows Autopilot deployments. • Build, maintain, and troubleshoot device compliance policies, configuration profiles, and application deployment packages. • Maintain software and operating system patch cadence across the managed endpoint fleet.

Identity and Access Administration • Manage user accounts and directory services including Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, and Group Policy. • Execute onboarding, offboarding, and access change requests in line with documented Identity and Access Management policy and least-privilege standards. • Support secure access protocols including conditional access policy administration and multifactor authentication enrollment.

Security Operations Support • Monitor and triage security alerts in Microsoft Defender and Microsoft Sentinel, escalating confirmed incidents to the security and compliance function. • Execute vulnerability remediation based on Nessus scan results, including system hardening, patching, and verification of closure. • Administer email security tooling including Proofpoint and secure mail flow policies; analyze email headers in support of phishing investigations. • Support phishing simulation campaigns and security awareness initiatives run by the security and compliance function. • Contribute evidence and system configuration detail in support of CMMC and SOC 2 audit cycles.

Support, Automation, and Continuity • Provide advanced technical support and resolve escalated IT tickets with professionalism and efficiency. • Write and maintain PowerShell and Python scripts to automate repetitive administrative tasks and reporting. • Assist in disaster recovery planning, backup strategy, and restoration testing. • Write and maintain technical documentation and internal knowledge base articles for procedures owned by this role. • Participate in a bi-weekly on-call rotation to provide after-hours support as needed. Requirements Required Qualifications • U.S.

Citizenship required. • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent experience. • 5+ years of experience in systems administration with a security-conscious operating approach. • Proficient in administering Microsoft 365, Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud Platform environments. • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Intune and Windows Autopilot in a managed endpoint environment. • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Sentinel, Proofpoint, and Nessus or an equivalent vulnerability management platform. • Strong scripting skills in PowerShell and/or Python for automation and integration tasks. • Working knowledge of Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems, including server administration fundamentals. • Familiarity with backup systems, disaster recovery protocols, and enterprise networking fundamentals. • Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and interpersonal communication skills. • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive data.

Preferred Qualifications • Certifications such as Microsoft AZ-500, AWS Certified Security Specialty, AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate, CompTIA Security+, CCNA, or similar. • Background administering virtualized server environments such as VMware or Hyper-V, as evidence of transferable Windows and Linux server administration depth applicable to cloud-hosted compute. • Experience supporting a federal contractor environment, including familiarity with CMMC Level 2 and SOC 2 requirements. • Working understanding of compliance frameworks such as NIST 800-171, ISO 27001/27002, and CMMC. • Familiarity with JSON and YAML, and with infrastructure-as-code or configuration management tooling. • Experience contributing to IT or security project initiatives beyond day-to-day operational support.

Clearance No clearance requirement. U.S. Citizenship only. This position is citizenship-only by design in order to preserve access to the full commercial systems administration talent pool in Northern Virginia, where cleared candidates are competed for aggressively at higher compensation bands. Federal contractor environment familiarity is signaled through

Salary Range: $110,000.00 to $140,000.00 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on the selected candidate's experience, education, skills, and overall qualifications Mission.
