Position Overview

We are seeking a VMware Avi & NSX Architect to design, optimize, and oversee the modernization of our cloud networking and application delivery infrastructure. In this role, you will lead the architecture and deployment of enterprise-class Software-Defined Networking (SDN) using VMware NSX (NSX-T / NSX-V to NSX migrations) and VMware Avi Load Balancer (NSX Advanced Load Balancer) across multi-cloud and hybrid environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Architecture & Strategy: Lead the end-to-end design, blue-printing, and deployment of VMware NSX (SDN, micro-segmentation, overlay networks) and Avi Load Balancer architectures across hybrid/multi-cloud environments.

• Load Balancing & Application Delivery: Architect and optimize Avi Service Engines (SE), Global Server Load Balancing (GSLB), Web Application Firewall (WAF), and ingress routing for modern microservices/Kubernetes (TKG/OpenShift).

• Network Security & Micro-segmentation: Design zero-trust security topologies using NSX Distributed Firewall (DFW), Gateway Firewall, and Service Insertion.

• Migration & Upgrades: Plan and execute legacy load balancer (F5/NetScaler) migrations to VMware Avi, as well as legacy NSX transitions and VMware Cloud (VMC) integrations.

• Automation & Orchestration: Drive Infrastructure as Code (IaC) adoption by automating network and load balancer provisioning using Terraform, Ansible, Python, and REST APIs.

• Troubleshooting & Optimization: Serve as the top-tier escalation point for complex L3/L4 network, routing (BGP/OSPF), and application delivery issues.

Key Qualifications

• Experience: 8+ years in enterprise network/security architecture, with 4+ years dedicated to VMware NSX and Avi Load Balancer implementations.

• Core Expertise: Deep knowledge of VMware NSX-T architecture, Avi ALB (NSX Advanced Load Balancer), BGP/OSPF routing, overlay networks (Geneve/VXLAN), and network virtual appliance integration.

• Certifications (Preferred): VCP-NV / VCAP-NV (Network Virtualization), VMware Certified Implementation Expert (VCIX), or VMware Avi Certified Professional.

• Automation: Hands-on experience with Terraform, Ansible, and Python for automating VMware SDDC environments.

• Cloud & Containers: Familiarity with AWS/Azure hybrid networking, VMware Cloud on AWS, and container networking (CNI) for Kubernetes/TKG.
