Payroll Integration System Developer

Location: New York, New York (Hybrid)

Role Overview

We are seeking a Payroll Integration System Developer for an approximately 8-month project. The consultant will support the HR and Payroll applications, including NYCAPS, RET-NYCAPS, PMS, and PPMS. This role involves analyzing migration procedures, authoring functional specifications, and collaborating with business and technical teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze and document mainframe and NYCAPS migration procedures.
• Author and review functional specifications with business owners and technical staff.
• Collaborate with technical job administrators and support personnel to research and resolve issues.
• Execute software migrations into all required environments following agency procedures, including planning, review, execution, and quality assurance.
• Manage the migration of components such as source code, object code, load modules, DBRMs, and copybooks.
• Perform migration steps according to established schedules and plans.
• Maintain production procedures for JCL setup and communicate with technical support.
• Support production migrations for changes to JCL and Procs.

Required Qualifications

Education: A Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related Technical/Business Discipline is required.

Technical Skills:

• Experience compiling, linking, and binding COBOL programs.
• Experience with Rational ClearQuest and ClearCase.
• Experience using TSO/ISPF.
• Proficiency with JCL.
• Knowledge of DB2 and IMS DB/DC.
• Familiarity with MS-Word and Excel.

Preferred Qualifications

• Excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills.
• Strong understanding of standard system development life cycle methodologies.
• Experience with PeopleSoft is a plus.
• Experience with UNIX is a plus.
• Experience working in Configuration Management with mainframe or midrange computers.

Work Environment

• Work schedule is hybrid, with alternating days on-site.
• The project duration is approximately 8 months, at 40 hours per week.
