Job Description
We are seeking a Technical Field Coordinator to support electric utility operations focused on improving system reliability and customer service. This role coordinates field activities, outage planning, project execution, and cross-functional communication while providing technical support for utility operations.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate field work with internal teams, contractors, and vendors.
- Support electric system reliability and power quality initiatives.
- Participate in outage planning and project coordination.
- Analyze technical issues and recommend solutions.
- Monitor project progress, safety, and work quality.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, construction, and maintenance teams.
- Interpret technical drawings, contracts, and project documentation.
- Communicate with customers, contractors, vendors, and regulatory agencies.
- Support continuous improvement and safety initiatives.
- Provide guidance to junior team members as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or a related technical field OR
- Associate's degree in a technical field with 3+ years of utility, engineering, construction, operations, or maintenance experience.
- Minimum 3 years of technical experience supporting engineering, operations, construction, maintenance, or utility projects.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally.
Preferred Qualifications
- Electric utility or energy industry experience.
- Knowledge of electric distribution systems, outage management, or utility construction.
- Experience coordinating field crews, contractors, or technical projects.
- Familiarity with utility contracts and regulatory requirements.
Work Environment
- Office-based with regular visits to local field sites.
- Approximately 20–30% local travel (2 days/week).
- No overnight travel.
- Mileage, fuel, and rental vehicle expenses reimbursed.
