Job DescriptionDescription\n\nSummary:\nDevelops and leads nursing maternal/perinatal initiatives for the CHRISTUS location. The Program Manager works in conjunction with the Maternal Medical Director to oversee perinatal practice in the facility.
The Program Manager also works with regional clinical leaders in the community (through the Regional Advisory Council-RAC) to lead the development and implementation of clinical strategies, policies, and practices throughout the Region and align them with CHRISTUS Health System which are guided by High-Reliability Principles, to achieve nursing standardization, evidence-based practices, operational excellence, and optimal patient care performance.
Establishes effective strategies for service line initiatives, education and competency, physician collaboration, integration, outcomes, and resource utilization with the goal of increasing service line growth, efficiency, compliance, safety, and patient experience.\nResponsibilities:\n\n Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.\n Participates in planning the service line vision and strategy as well as the development, implementation, communication and promotion of the strategic plans.\n Co-Chairs the facility’s Maternal QAPI Committee along with the Maternal Medical Director.\n Responsible for ensuring all core functions and the facility’s Maternal Program Plan are followed and performance indicators are in compliance with benchmarks and standards; if not, formulates a plan to be on track.
Provides support and direction to ministries when indicators are not meeting targets to ensure successful corrective action.\n Acts as a subject matter expert or identifies appropriate contributors to consult on the development and implementation of evidence-based maternal/perinatal nursing policies/procedures/standards of care relative to patient care, safety, and stewardship of resources.\n Monitors progress of action and strategic plans and manages approved deviations from plan.\n Manages resource forecasting for business and financial resources determining gaps in resources, skills or training and develops strategies to fill those gaps.\n Provides ongoing leadership and training to ensure that team members are focused, committed, and capable of producing expected results.\n Assists in establishing and implementing System policies, procedures, and standards.\n Provides effective oral and written communications to staff to facilitate understanding, ownership and accomplishment of goals and objectives.\n Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills, possess good negotiating skills and promote teamwork; monitor team member feedback to ensure effectiveness of communication and understanding of organizational direction and expectations.\n Establishes and monitors department quality objectives, milestones and benchmarks.\n Develops and implements effective tools to measure performance against these standards and to document and regularly report on the current status of projects and routine assignments.\n Leads in the establishing of departmental programs, which promote and emphasize the commitment to exceptional maternal care.\n Must have a high level of interpersonal skills, tact, and diplomacy is required to deal effectively with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders.\n Must be knowledgeable of health care professional education and continuing educational requirements.\n Must have strong knowledge of clinical care processes across all nursing clinical disciplines in the continuum of care and demonstrated expertise in the application of clinical technology to these processes, as well as maintain up to date and evidenced based practice.\n Must have knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.\n Must participate in ongoing staff and team-based education/simulations and training in the care of the perinatal patient.\n Regularly and actively participate in the maternal care at the facility where their program manager services are provided.\n\nJob Requirements:\nEducation/Skills\n\n Bachelor of Science in Nursing required.\n Presentation and communication skills required.\n\nExperience\n\n 5+ years of clinical experience in perinatal nursing required.\n Experience leading unit/facility initiatives preferred.\n\nLicenses, Registrations, or Certifications\n\n Registered Nurse in the state of employment or compact required.\n Certification in Neonatal Resuscitation Program required.\n Certification in AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring required.\n\n \nWork Schedule:\n8AM - 5PM Monday-Friday\nWork Type:\nFull Time
