Sr Packaging Engineer

Schedule: Work from home Monday and Friday; onsite Tuesday–Thursday (required).

What the Client Is Looking For:

An experienced Senior Packaging Engineer with 7+ years of experience developing and improving packaging solutions in manufacturing, food, consumer products, or related industries.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, test, validate, and launch new packaging solutions.

• Strong expertise in plastic injection molding, mold design, and tooling.

• Experience with flexible packaging, paperboard, corrugated packaging, and labels.

• Manage packaging specifications, BOMs, testing, and validation.

• Improve packaging quality, production efficiency, sustainability, and cost.

• Work with suppliers, manufacturing, quality, and procurement teams.

• Support packaging equipment installation, troubleshooting, and new product launches.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Packaging, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

• 7+ years of packaging engineering experience.

• Strong hands-on experience with plastic injection molding and tooling.

• Knowledge of packaging materials, testing, and commercialization.

• Experience with packaging optimization software such as CAPE or TOPS.

• Familiarity with artwork management systems such as Esko WebCenter.

• Strong project management and communication skills.

Preferred: Knowledge of FDA, FSMA, GMP, food safety, Lean Six Sigma, and sustainable packaging.
