Claims Handler
Quick Overview
Job Description
Overview
Are you looking for a role where you can build a long-term career, learn new skills, and make a real difference to customers when they need support the most?
At Gallagher Bassett, we're looking for a Claim Handler to join our growing Property Claims team in Tamworth. Whether you have previous claims experience, supply chain experience, or customer service experience and are looking for your next step, we'll provide the training, support, and development to help you succeed.
Working in a friendly and supportive team, you'll manage your own portfolio of property claims, helping customers through the claims process, coordinating repairs, and ensuring each claim progresses smoothly from start to finish.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a business that genuinely invests in its people, with clear career pathways, ongoing training, and fully funded professional qualifications.
How you'll make an impact
As a Claim Handler, you'll be the first point of contact for customers, clients, contractors and suppliers, helping to deliver an excellent claims experience.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing property claims from first notification through to settlement.
- Speaking with customers and clients via phone and email.
- Accurately recording claim information and updating systems.
- Coordinating repairs and appointments with contractors and customers.
- Keeping all parties updated throughout the claims journey.
- Proactively reviewing claims and taking action to move them forward.
- Working towards team and individual service targets.
- Maintaining accurate records across client and internal systems.
- Supporting colleagues and working collaboratively to achieve team objectives.
About You
We're interested in people with the right attitude and willingness to learn. You don't need extensive claims experience to be successful in this role.
You'll ideally have:
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A positive and professional approach to customer service.
- Good organisation and time management skills.
- The ability to work independently while being a team player.
- Attention to detail and a proactive mindset.
- Empathy and the ability to build rapport with customers.
- Confidence managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
