As a global leader in innovative wealth management, asset servicing, asset management and banking services, Northern Trust (Nasdaq: NTRS) is proud to guide the world’s most successful individuals, families, corporations and institutions.

Since 1889, we have aligned our efforts with our three guiding Principles That Endure: Service, Expertise, and Integrity. Together, they reflect the three cornerstones of business conduct which we strive to instill in our employees, whom we call partners, and to provide to our clients and the communities we serve worldwide.

With more than 135 years of financial experience and over 24,000 partners, we serve the world’s most sophisticated clients using leading technology and exceptional service.

Role/ Department:

Northern Trust Asset Management (NTAM) is a trillion dollar investment management firm entrusted by investors around the globe to help them navigate changing market environments, so they can confidently realise their long-term objectives.

The business is rapidly expanding and there is a need for a pooled product manager with UK funds experience.

Based in London, and part of a Global Product team, the Pooled Product Manager is responsible for developing and managing both UK and EU domiciled pooled fund ranges across the product lifecycle. The role works closely with investment, distribution, legal, risk, compliance, operations, and finance teams to deliver commercially viable, well-governed products that meet client needs and UK, Irish & Dutch regulatory requirements.

The key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Lead lifecycle management across the pooled fund range, including fund launches, change events, closures, class issuance, and ongoing product enhancement in support of distribution priorities and entry into new markets.
  • Oversee the day-to-day maintenance of all funds, ensuring product structures, operating features, and supporting documentation remain accurate, fit for purpose, and aligned with business and investor requirements.
  • Take ownership of budget and expense oversight for the pooled product range, including monitoring product-related costs, supporting allocation methodologies, and contributing to commercial decision-making.
  • Provide strategic product support on matters such as tax, class issuance, structural change, and platform development, helping to simplify and optimise the operating model where possible.
  • Coordinate regulatory filings and reporting requirements across the product range, supporting compliance with applicable UCITS, PRIIPs, SFDR, SDR, MiFID, and other relevant regulatory obligations.
  • Coordinate the production of the Fund Financial Statements across the product range, supporting compliance with GAAP and other relevant regulatory obligations.
  • Support investment oversight and product governance activities by working closely with investment, risk, legal, compliance, and operational stakeholders and contributing to strong governance frameworks.
  • Maintain product content for fund websites and related external disclosures, ensuring investor-facing information is current, accurate, and consistent with approved product documentation.
  • Prepare and contribute to board reporting and governance materials, presenting product developments, change activity, regulatory matters, and key issues clearly to internal committees and boards.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong knowledge of UK pooled fund structures, including UCITS, NURS and ideally AIF vehicles, with practical experience in fund launches, change events and lifecycle management. Knowledge of Irish and Dutch fund structures would be an advantage.
  • 4+ years’ experience in investment management, ACD or asset servicing, including product management, fund governance or lifecycle management of UK pooled funds.
  • Strong analytical, commercial and project management skills, with the ability to translate strategic priorities into executable product plans and measurable outcomes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing governance papers, product documentation and client or sales support materials.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, and familiarity with product governance, project management and investment management tools.

Valuable Competencies

  • Strong collaboration and influencing skills, with the ability to work effectively across investment, legal, risk, compliance, operations and distribution teams.
  • Commercially minded, with strong judgement and the ability to balance client, business and regulatory considerations.
  • Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver effectively within a complex, cross-functional environment.
  • Proactive and solutions-focused, with strong ownership and attention to detail.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant qualification.
