Position Overview
Accenture is seeking an experienced Business Intelligence Engineer (BIE) / AWS Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain automated AWS data pipelines supporting analytics, KPI reporting, and business intelligence.
This is a hands-on engineering role requiring strong experience with AWS data services, Python, SQL, ETL, and API integrations. The engineer will integrate data from multiple enterprise applications and APIs, transform and model that data within AWS, and make it available for KPI reporting and dashboards.
The ideal candidate combines strong data engineering capabilities with enough business intelligence experience to understand how the data will ultimately be consumed by business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable AWS data pipelines.
- Develop automated ETL/ELT processes using AWS services.
- Integrate data from multiple REST APIs, SaaS applications, and enterprise systems.
- Work with Amazon S3, AWS Glue, Redshift and/or Athena, Lambda, and IAM.
- Develop Python-based data ingestion, transformation, and automation processes.
- Write advanced SQL for data transformation, validation, modeling, and analysis.
- Build integrations with platforms such as Jira, Smartsheet, Qualtrics, or similar systems.
- Develop analytical datasets supporting operational reporting and business KPIs.
- Design and maintain dashboards using Tableau, Amazon QuickSight, Power BI, or similar BI tools.
- Partner with business and technical stakeholders to define KPIs, reporting requirements, and data definitions.
- Implement data quality, monitoring, security, and access-control practices.
- Apply data governance principles including IAM, security, access controls, and data-retention policies.
- Troubleshoot pipeline, API integration, performance, and data-quality issues.
- Document data sources, integrations, transformations, dependencies, and reporting logic.
Required Qualifications
- 5–8 years of Data Engineering, Business Intelligence Engineering, Analytics Engineering, or related experience.
- Strong hands-on AWS data engineering experience.
- Strong experience with Amazon S3 and AWS Glue/ETL.
- Experience with Amazon Redshift and/or Athena.
- Experience with AWS Lambda and IAM.
- Advanced SQL skills.
- Strong Python development skills for data engineering and automation.
- Proven experience building automated data pipelines.
- Hands-on experience integrating multiple REST APIs or SaaS applications.
- Experience working with REST APIs, JSON, authentication, pagination, error handling, and automated ingestion.
- Experience defining or supporting business KPIs and analytical datasets.
- Experience with Tableau, Amazon QuickSight, Power BI, or comparable BI/dashboard technology.
- Understanding of data governance, security, access controls, and retention requirements.
- Ability to work onsite in Redmond, WA, five days per week. Sponsorship is not available.
Preferred Qualifications
- Direct API integration experience with Jira, Smartsheet, or Qualtrics.
- Experience with multiple BI platforms, including Tableau, QuickSight, or Power BI.
- Experience consolidating data from multiple enterprise systems into centralized analytical datasets.
- Experience working in large enterprise or consulting environments.
- Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate reporting requirements into technical data solutions.
What Accenture is Looking For
- This is not primarily a dashboard developer or BI analyst position.
- Accenture is looking for a hands-on engineer who can take data from APIs and enterprise applications, automate ingestion into AWS, transform and model the data using Python and SQL, implement appropriate security and governance controls, and deliver datasets that support KPI reporting and dashboards.
- Candidates whose experience is primarily Tableau or Power BI development without strong AWS data engineering and API integration experience will not be a fit.
