Role Overview

We are looking for a hands-on Embedded Software Engineer to support a new project initiative with one of our clients. This is a mid-to-senior level role focused on low-level embedded software development, system programming, and testing for next-generation embedded platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Embedded C/C++, Linux, bootloaders, and embedded systems development, with the ability to independently design, develop, test, and debug software in a fast-paced engineering environment. This position is highly coding-intensive, with approximately 80–90% of the work focused on software development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, test, and debug embedded software using C and C++.
  • Develop low-level software components, boot processes, and system initialization modules.
  • Work extensively within Linux-based embedded environments.
  • Support embedded system bring-up, debugging, and system-level integration.
  • Troubleshoot software defects and optimize system performance.
  • Collaborate with systems engineers and hardware teams during development and integration.
  • Participate in code reviews, debugging sessions, and software validation activities.
  • Take ownership of assigned development tasks while working independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Contribute to the design, implementation, and testing of next-generation embedded platforms.

Required Education:

  • Education is kind of flexible, but Bachelors preferred.

Required Work Experience:

  • 5–8 years of hands-on Embedded Software Development experience.
  • Strong programming skills in C and C++.
  • Solid experience working with Linux operating systems.
  • Experience with Bootloaders, Boot Process, and Low-Level System Initialization.
  • Strong understanding of embedded systems architecture.
  • Experience with software debugging, testing, and performance optimization.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Nice to Have:

  • Automotive embedded software development experience.
  • Experience with embedded platforms from companies such as Qualcomm, NVIDIA, Texas Instruments, NXP, Visteon, or similar semiconductor/embedded organizations.
  • Experience working with networking or embedded hardware companies such as Cisco, Arista, or Juniper.
