Duration: 6+ Months

Job Description
Position Summary
We are seeking a talented and motivated Senior Integrations Engineer to design, build, and operate enterprise-grade integration solutions on cloud infrastructure. Collaborating closely with our Lead Engineer and cross-functional teams, you will develop event-driven and API-based integrations that connect systems, SaaS platforms, and internal services using a core technology stack. You will take ownership of individual workstreams from start to finish, contribute to architecture decisions, manage infrastructure via infrastructure-as-code tools, and deliver high-quality, production-ready code through automated deployment pipelines. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an engineer to deepen expertise in cloud-native, event-driven architecture and advance toward a leadership position.
Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Design & Implementation
    • Design and implement event-driven solutions using messaging and event-routing platforms to enable asynchronous communication across enterprise systems.
    • Develop and maintain messaging producers, consumers, and streaming applications, applying best practices in data schema management and error handling.
    • Build and deploy microservices and event consumers on container orchestration platforms, creating production-grade, auto-scaling workloads using containerization and Kubernetes.
    • Create and maintain API integrations using REST and event-based protocols following API design principles and specifications.
    • Implement workflow patterns and orchestrate distributed processes using messaging, event buses, and serverless workflows.
    • Support real-time and batch data pipelines to facilitate data movement between operational and analytical systems.
  • Infrastructure & CI/CD Management
    • Develop and maintain infrastructure templates and modules for messaging clusters, container workloads, event rules, and permissions management using infrastructure-as-code tools.
    • Build and sustain automated deployment pipelines to ensure repeatability, security, and zero manual configuration drift in production environments.
    • Ensure infrastructure is version-controlled, fully automated, and aligned with industry best practices for operational reliability.
  • Pattern & Governance Application
    • Apply enterprise integration patterns such as publish/subscribe, saga, outbox, dead-letter handling, and idempotent processing to ensure reliable scalability.
    • Contribute to API and service standards, including versioning and contract-first development practices.
    • Instrument integrations with structured logging, metrics, and distributed tracing to enable rapid issue diagnosis.
    • Follow security best practices in access control, network security, secrets management, and data encryption.
  • Production Support & Operations
    • Provide Tier 2/3 support for live workloads, diagnosing issues, resolving incidents, and contributing to operational documentation.
    • Monitor system performance and optimize throughput while maintaining SLAs.
    • Participate in on-call rotations, incident response, and continuous operational improvement efforts.
  • Team Collaboration & Mentorship
    • Work closely with team members to deliver well-designed, fit-for-purpose solutions.
    • Participate in code reviews, offering constructive and rigorous feedback.
    • Support and mentor junior engineers by sharing expertise and best practices in messaging, architecture, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Documentation & Continuous Learning
    • Produce clear design documents, data flow diagrams, operational runbooks, and architecture decision records.
    • Stay current with ecosystem updates, emerging tools, and industry best practices, proactively sharing new knowledge with the team.
    • Identify improvements to process, tooling, and reliability, presenting proposals supported by rationale.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5–7 years of professional experience in software or integration engineering, focusing on enterprise solutions.
  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience with messaging and streaming platforms, including designing, maintaining, and operating at production scale.
  • Proven experience building and maintaining event-driven architectures utilizing cloud message buses and streaming platforms.
  • Solid experience deploying and managing containerized workloads on orchestration platforms, such as Kubernetes and container services.
  • Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code, with experience writing modules and managing remote state, using automation tools.
  • Demonstrated success delivering end-to-end integration solutions within agile, collaborative teams.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification in cloud and infrastructure technologies, such as solutions architecture, developer, Terraform, or Kubernetes certifications.
  • Hands-on experience with a broad range of cloud services, including API gateways, serverless functions, data pipelines, and security controls.
  • Strong understanding of industry-standard integration patterns and API design practices.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, Node.js, or C#/.NET.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts to varied audiences.
  • Demonstrated interest in mentoring junior team members and fostering best practices in team environments.
