We are recruiting an experienced HRBP / ERP to join a busy and evolving People & Culture team within a complex, multi-service organisation.

This is a hands-on, influential role with responsibility for leading a varied and high-volume employee relations caseload. You will act as a trusted adviser to managers and senior stakeholders, providing practical, commercially aware and legally compliant guidance across the full range of ER matters.

The initial appointment will be on a fixed-term contract, with a clear opportunity for the role to become permanent.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing complex ER cases from initial advice through to resolution, including conduct, grievance, capability, performance and long-term absence

• Coaching managers to handle employee relations matters confidently, consistently and fairly

• Supporting organisational change programmes, including restructures, redundancies and TUPE transfers

• Working constructively with trade unions, employees and external partners

• Identifying emerging ER risks and recommending appropriate interventions

• Using case data and workforce trends to improve decision-making and reduce organisational risk

• Reviewing and improving HR policies, procedures, systems and manager guidance

• Managing relationships with external providers, including employment lawyers, occupational health specialists and mediators

• Delivering ER-related training and development to strengthen management capability

• Maintaining accurate, compliant and confidential employee relations records

About you

You will be an established HR or Employee Relations professional with significant experience managing complex and high-volume casework within a fast-paced organisation.

You should be able to demonstrate:

• Strong knowledge of UK employment law and employee relations best practice

• Experience working in a unionised environment

• Proven experience of restructures, redundancies, consultation and TUPE

• Confidence advising and influencing managers at all levels

• The ability to manage sensitive, contentious and high-risk cases independently

• Strong analytical skills and experience using ER data to identify trends and risks

• Excellent written communication, case documentation and report-writing skills

• A practical, balanced and people-focused approach to resolving workplace issues

• CIPD Level 5 qualification, CIPD membership or equivalent professional experience

This opportunity would suit an experienced Employee Relations Partner, Senior HR Adviser, HR Business Partner or Employee Relations Manager seeking a challenging and varied role with the potential to develop into a permanent appointment.
