The role of a Lead Services Technician is to oversee and carry out advanced maintenance and repair tasks on a wide range of equipment and facilities. This includes diagnosing and resolving intricate technical issues, conducting thorough inspections, and offering mentorship to entry-level technicians. Additionally, individuals in this role may be responsible for providing training and mentorship to staff, ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols, and meticulously documenting all maintenance activities for record-keeping purposes. Must have strong leadership abilities.
Job Duties
- Follow safety procedures, observe safe work practices, and maintain a safe working environment.
- Diagnose and solve complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues.
- Perform maintenance, repair, and replacement of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical components to resolve malfunctions.
- Use electrical test equipment to assist in troubleshooting and testing.
- Ability to provide technical direction and mentorship to lower-level technicians.
- Ability to effectively collaborate with employees at all professional levels.
- Interact with customers and respond to their inquiries in a professional manner.
- Effectively gather information on turbine performance/issues to diagnose, recommend, and implement solutions for complex problems.
- Identify any gaps in safety standards and potential safety risks within the work environment.
Position Qualifications/Skills
- Must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience maintaining wind turbines.
- Demonstrated use of power tools such as hydraulic, power torque, and diagnostic tools.
- Driving is an essential function of the job, and applicants must have a valid driver’s license at the time of application and an acceptable driving record. Employees must maintain a valid license and a satisfactory driving record and may be subject to periodic DMV checks of their driving record.
- Must pass a pre-hire drug screen.
- Flexible travel schedule, with up to 100% travel.
- Physically and mentally able to work at heights and in confined spaces.
- High School Graduate or GED
- 3-5 years experience
- OSHA 10 General Industry Required
- Active Valid Driver's License
- Real ID or Passport; must be able to fly
