Job Description

Position: Salesforce Commerce Business Analyst
Location: Remote

This BA role will work directly alongside the Salesforce Commerce Cloud Solution Architect to:

  • Lead discovery and requirements workshops
  • Document business capabilities and process flows
  • Define and prioritize backlog items
  • Translate business needs into functional requirements
  • Support solution design validation
  • Coordinate UAT and business readiness activities
  • Ensure alignment between business objectives and technical delivery

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with business stakeholders to gather, document, and validate business requirements for Commerce Cloud initiatives.
  • Support the Salesforce Commerce Cloud Solution Architect during discovery workshops, solution design discussions, and roadmap planning activities.
  • Analyze current-state business processes and document future-state workflows.
  • Facilitate requirements gathering sessions, stakeholder interviews, and business process workshops.
  • Translate business requirements into:
    • User Stories
    • Functional Requirements
    • Acceptance Criteria
    • Process Flows
    • Business Rules Documentation
  • Develop and maintain product backlogs in partnership with Product Owners.
  • Work closely with architects and development teams to ensure requirements are accurately understood and implemented.
  • Support design and configuration decisions related to:
    • Product Catalog Management
    • Search & Merchandising
    • Checkout & Payment Workflows
    • Promotions & Campaigns
    • Customer Account Management
    • Order Management Processes
    • Loyalty and Customer Experience Enhancements
  • Document detailed integration requirements between Commerce Cloud and external systems including ERP, OMS, CRM, payment, tax, and fulfillment platforms.
  • Facilitate backlog refinement, sprint planning, UAT preparation, and release readiness activities.
  • Create traceability matrices and ensure alignment between requirements, testing, and delivered functionality.
  • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), defect triage, and production validation activities.
  • Assist in change management, end-user training, and business readiness efforts.
  • Create executive-ready status reports, requirements documentation, and project updates.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of Business Analysis experience supporting enterprise software implementations.
  • 3+ years supporting eCommerce, digital commerce, or customer experience initiatives.
  • Experience working on Salesforce Commerce Cloud (B2C Commerce) projects or comparable enterprise commerce platforms.
  • Strong understanding of:
    • eCommerce business processes
    • Customer journeys
    • Product catalog structures
    • Checkout workflows
    • Promotions and merchandising
    • Order lifecycle management
    • Customer account management
  • Experience documenting:
    • Functional requirements
    • User stories
    • Acceptance criteria
    • Process maps
    • Business workflows
  • Experience facilitating stakeholder workshops and requirements elicitation sessions.
  • Strong knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Experience using JIRA, Azure DevOps, Confluence, or similar delivery tools.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Salesforce Business Analyst Certification.
  • Experience supporting Salesforce Commerce Cloud (B2C Commerce) implementations.
  • Experience with:
    • Salesforce Marketing Cloud
    • Salesforce Service Cloud
    • Salesforce Sales Cloud
    • Salesforce Data Cloud
  • Knowledge of omnichannel digital commerce concepts.
  • Experience with multi-site or global eCommerce implementations.
  • Experience supporting consulting engagements or enterprise transformation programs.
  • Familiarity with headless commerce architectures and modern digital commerce ecosystems.
  • Experience supporting UAT and change management initiatives.
