Job Description

Solaris is Europe’s leading embedded finance platform, pioneering Banking-as-a-Service to bridge the gap between financial technology and licensed banking. Founded in 2016 and headquartered in Berlin, Solaris enables fintechs, digital ecosystems, and multinationals to embed accounts, cards, lending, and payments directly into their own products, creating seamless financial experiences for their users. As a fully licensed German bank, Solaris combines the highest standards of IT security and regulatory resilience with a modular, highly scalable infrastructure.

Today, Solaris is driving the next evolution of financial services by transitioning into an AI-native banking platform, ensuring European businesses can deploy secure, adaptable financial products at scale.

Why join Solaris?

  • 🚀 We are fundamentally redesigning banking processes around AI orchestration, standardized modular building blocks, and embedded regulatory compliance.
  • 🎯 We combine tech and banking in dedicated hubs - driving the technology infrastructure out of Berlin and banking operations out of Frankfurt.
  • 💡 Through our internal mobility, growth opportunities, and the Solaris Academy, we offer continuous learning tracks, AI ambassador mentorship, and upskilling to keep your skills ahead of the curve.
  • ⚖️ We foster a workplace rooted in integrity, proactive risk management, and equality actively driving initiatives like DEI initiatives.

About the role

Rapid growth, expanding fintech partnerships, and evolving EU regulatory frameworks (AMLR) make Business KYC one of the bank’s most strategic priorities. As Senior Product Owner for BKYC domain, you will lead the vision, strategy, and execution for our business onboarding and periodic review platforms. You will partner closely with engineering, compliance, and commercial stakeholders to automate manual workflows, reduce processing times, and build scalable systems that unlock business growth while ensuring strict regulatory compliance. You’ll serve as the dedicated leader for our BKYC engineering team, setting clear priorities and driving product excellence from day one.

While this role focuses on BKYC, strong product owners from adjacent domains - such as retail KYC, CDD, AML, or broader financial crime prevention - are highly encouraged to apply. What matters most is your ability to untangle complex business structures (like corporate hierarchies, cross-border entities, and screening workflows) and translate them into scalable product solutions.

Your Role

  • Take full ownership of a product sub-domain, from conceptualization to delivery, ensuring alignment with overall business goals. Together with the Engineering counterparts form the leadership team for the domain.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across the organization, clearly communicating product visions, strategies, and updates.
  • Contribute to the creation and execution of product roadmaps, setting clear priorities and milestones.
  • Implement and refine agile methodologies within the development team to enhance productivity and delivery quality.
  • Drive the development of solutions that meet market needs and user expectations, staying ahead of industry trends and applying creative thinking to solve problems.
  • You participate in the proactive identification, management, and mitigation of risks and findings within your product domain, aligning with Solaris' compliance and policy standards.

We'd love to see

Depending on your level of experience, your responsibilities and scope of role will range. We don’t care much about fancy titles, but rather about real personal and professional development, as laid out in our learning framework. Let’s figure together out how you can contribute to our team.

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in banking, business, engineering or any other related fields.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Product Manager/Owner or a similar profession - experience in a banking / fintech environment is a strong advantage.
  • Experience in creating new products, dealing with complex code base and maintaining services.
  • Experience in working with engineering teams and understand their mindset and language.
  • Exposure to B2B or BaaS environments - where business clients are onboarded through partner channels - is a plus.
  • Experience with BKYC processes - such as corporate entity verification, UBO identification, or business customer due diligence - is a strong advantage.
  • Awareness of the regulatory landscape affecting BKYC, including evolving EU AML regulations and their impact on business customer onboarding, is highly valued.
  • Collaboration with internal stakeholders, such as customer support, marketing and legal to ensure a seamless and compliant integration of customer facing features.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, critical for articulating product visions, strategies, and specific features to diverse stakeholders, including team members, executives, and external partners. For a Senior PO vital for negotiating with stakeholders, managing expectations, and leading strategic discussions.
  • Strong leadership skills to inspire, guide, and motivate team members and stakeholders, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment. For

  • The capacity to quickly adapt to changing market conditions, user feedback, and project constraints. This includes a strong problem-solving orientation that enables the identification and implementation of effective solutions under ambiguity. For a Senior PO, adaptability also encompasses leading teams through high-pressure phases  or changes, maintaining focus on outcomes and quality delivery.
